Pardon me, but GTH. Baton Rouge is like other mid to large cities - inner city crack houses, etc. except in Baton Rouge -where it's mostly in the northern part of town. The rest of Baton Rouge is nice, esp. South and SE part. Don't categorize a 600,000 metro area by one part of town AH.

All lies. Sanford Stafium is a beautiful place and getting even nicer with ongoing improvements. Athens is a pretty town that loves to party. The only thing this moron said that comes close to being true is the lack of close in campus parking. There is plenty of parking on the campus near the stadium but it is reserved for season ticket holders - like at most schools. There is plenty of parking available during game days but you might have a short walk. In some areas free shuttle buses are available.
If I were an AU fan I’d worry more about the traffic problems and declining condition at my own stadium. And your downtown area sucks. And those toilet papered trees that appear every time you beat some little sister of the poor doesnt do much for the decor.
So few AU fans show up in Athens anymore. Can’t blame them. It’s not fun having your teams heart ripped out again and again. Poor AU. So jealous of the big boys of football. UGA and Bama own y’all.

That is pretty much what this thread will boil down to. People saying they had ok times at a few and a horrible experience at another because these 1-2 assholes blah blah blah.
I have never had a bad experience at any SEC school and the only time it was questionable was when dealing with groups of 3 or more students. I will say, the most interesting was winning at Auburn and losing at Auburn and having basically the same cool experience each time. Same when they came to BR.

Concur with this. Add to your experience - drunk female dawg fans yelling FU to our group as we left, and lots of dawg fans yelling Row Tahd. Campus was trashed- beer cans literally up to top of curb level on streets and spilling onto sidewalks.

A typical NFL rivalry game is basically 60K home students vs 10K visiting students. I never thought about avoiding violence at a football game until a Texans vs Cowboys preseason game on a Saturday night at Reliant. I never felt unsafe, but it felt like a fight could break out any time.

If you don't see many AU fans in Athens, it's because science hasn't developed a vaccine for rabid human leg humpers.

Jealousy isn’t pretty. Athens is the #1 college town in the nation. Poll
After poll over the years bear this out. Sanford Stadium is a fantastic stadium - a crown jewel - set in the middle of an absolutely gorgeous campus. People who say differently have never been there or are sick of their teams arse getting whipped. I’ve been to every SEC school and inside all their stadiums ( been to College Station but not inside the stadium and have no desire to go in) and there isn’t one as nice as Sanford Stadium. AU has some nice areas in theirs but it is in decline. Bamas ok and that’s it. BTW
Sanford stadium is currently undergoing improvements with more on the way and it will soon be even nicer.
I know it’s St Patrick’s Day and all but pea green really isn’t your color. But what the hey it’s nice to see how Georgia and all their advantages gets you so worked up
