Though not officially "hosting" potential recruits... Both schools can leave tickets for recruits so there is some benefit to having the neutral site vs all or nothing of home/home. The follow up calls.. "you see how we need you?" Or "come be a part of a winning program"

Good news. My son has never made it to the cocktail party....always something going on when we were in the US that he was committed to, then he went off to college and it has just never worked out that he has gone with us. We are going this year because I am convinced this would have been the last year ever or at least for a long time. I was a little concerned that something might come out about it being the last year and ticket prices would get so high that I would be tempted to sell them LOL. As bad as Florida is right now chances of being offered a kings ransom for our 4 are very low...had it been the last WLOCP ever they would be crazy valuable.

Understand that and its a fun event but it reminds me of when LSU plays in Tampa or Orlando its a "event" but none of those stadiums add any value to a program

The only neutral site game that has value is the Red River Shoot Out, Cotton Bowl has a ton of history with college football

Put the games on campus host recruits and enjoy a great rivary or when no florida player will play in athens or a georgia player play gainsville

Both top 5 game day experciences in the SEC

The WLOCP predates the RRSO. The Gator Bowl has been a pretty big deal in the South for about as long as the Cotton Bowl has been a big deal in Texas. The Gator has hosted SEC teams most years...and the SEC is still intact. Oklahoma and Texas move every time the rent comes due...and are moving to the SEC where the Gator Bowl is about equal in importance in historical terms as the Cotton Bowl. Is there any doubt which is more historically significant....one a venue hosting 2 teams which have not changed conferences in nearly 90 years or one involving 2 teams who move every time the rent is due???

Thanks for your perspective. It is noted.

As a UGA fan, you are wrong.

The school schedule at UGA adjusts for the game in JAX.
It's kind of a sign that it has value in the Dawg community.

When both teams are competitive the schedules of nearly every institution in both states are adjusted. It is every bit as historically significant as the RRSO. Unfortunately is probably coming to an end due to the nature of folks from the south to welcome the downtrodden...Texas and Oklahoma being the benefactors of that good nature is most likely the end of the WLOCP. Both participants in the WLOCP have home and homes with out of conference teams which are nearly mandated by state law in each state...UGA and Auburn is the oldest rivarly in the deep south can will not be touched. Oklahoma and Texas have given up any long lasting rivalries they may have once had years ago (Nebraska, ATM and Arkansas) due to moving every time the rent comes due and will give up Texas Tech and Oklahoma State when the rent comes due next...meanwhile UGA and UF are doing what they have done since the 1930s, in the same conference and against the same rivalries. The RRSO isn't nearly as historically significant as the WLOCP because of the differences between the two groups of schools traditions...one group staying the course for 90+ years, the other moving every time the rent is due...

And as part of stadium reno, they need to rename it Munson Field.

Larry Munson Stadium at Vince Dooley Field. Or Alternative "Gators Got Their arse Whupped STadium"...either would be appropriate...

here's someone that's obviously never been. Or has any idea whatsoever about the history and aura around the game.

Home and home is better for recruiting

to a minute degree. We would get one extra recruiting weekend over a 2 year time period.

Occasionally, we should think about the fans.

IF our spineless AD hadn't bent over and let the SEC/AU have their way then we'd still play AU and UT at home in rotating years which would squash most peoples' argument about our lousy home schedules.

Also teeeeeeeeeechnically we are the away team in Jax this year, meaning that we'd have AU/UF/UT all away in teh same year, which still does nothing to address people complaining about the lousy home schedule those years.
