Go check woodsons stats and compare to Honey Badger. Peyton lost bc of Chris fowler and ESPN bias.

Please note woodsons punt ret avg, int ret ydg and how little offense he actually played

Eric Berry, Champ Bailey, Pat Peterson, and honey badger were all better college players statistically

This is why I understand when B1G fans complain about SEC bias now.

ESPN and the Big 10 were in cahoots in the mid to late 90's.

Much like the SEC is now.

I don't see how you can have a gripe with Woodson who was making plays both ways.

Most of us don't care about his sexuality. Manning was the better player that year.

He wasn't even the best player at his position that year.

And he was the 9th leading tackler on his own team.

Tackles really isn't really a stat used to determine how great a corner is

I think Torretta over Faulk was a bigger shame.

It wasn't ESPN it was Disney. They had every Michigan game on and 5 I think as National games with Keith and Bob. Griese voted for Manning.

I stopped giving a shite about the Heisman when they didn't give it to Grossman because he was a sophomore.

I hate Florida, but that year, Rex G was the best player in college football.

Peyton lost because he couldn't beat UF.

I lost respect for the trophy when they gave it to Archie griffin twice, then all else was lost when they didn't give it to McFadden because he was a sophomore, but gave it to a nothin qb from osu. Then turned around and gave it to a sophomore Tebow, though he was quite worthy.

The Heisman is a joke now and I have absolutely no respect for the award or whatever the crap they put out...

There was a sense of Peyton fatigue. It wound up that the media tried all season to come up with a reason to NOT give it to Peyton. Really wasn't fair, he did nothing to lose it, but he was such a shoo in from day one that some idiots wanted to be contrarians.
