Wonder if Cochran regrets leaving BAMA?

I wish him the best.

Why would he?
Guy wanted an opportunity to be an on-field coach and Saban refused. So, he left.
What's wrong with a man wanting to advance himself?

Sounds like Saban was starting to push him out anyway

Seems kind of a shitty way of disposing of someone who worked for you for 13 years, but it's 100% in line with how Saban operates.

No, it’s not. Multiple people have been welcomed back for multiple stints under Saban. Some left on their own, others not so much. Saban is a hepper.
Cochran approached Saban about an on-field position, and Bama didn’t have an opening for him.

Cochran had clearly lost interest and wanted more. Saban could see it and simply made the best business decision for the program.

And Cochran left because Saban refused to give him an opportunity to advance any farther in the program. After 13 years with him.
Are there Bammers out there that really think he would want to come back after that? Is that what this thread is supposed to be about?

Then why didn’t LSU keep Les Miles?

Interesting way of saying "Saban told him no"

Do you people realize how big of an a-hole Saban is?

Sounds like Cochran couldn’t handle the promotion. He’s likely in rehab right now.

C'mon really? How are the situations even remotely comparable?

Glad Saban isn't O just hires people and not interview them. Better yet hire two coordinators that never held the position or actually called plays.

Joe Brady walked into Bryan-Dennehy and rolled up 46 on you.

Do you realize how many devastating injuries we were having back to the 2017 season? We are blessed to get this sports science building in place and have two guys that know their way around the cutting edge of training and nutrition.
It has already made a world of difference with the kind of injuries we were experiencing. Cochran knew BAMA wanted a different approach and it was coming one way or the other.

Aside from Les turning out to be a creep, yes they are. In a sense.
Alabama was wanting to transition to the science based approach to strength and conditioning for some time. They were getting ready to open the new sports science center the year Cochran left. He wasn’t too on board with changing the approach he had been successful with. He was also wanting to get on the field. Saban didn’t exactly push him out but he wasn’t going to give him an on-the-field job either.
Both sides got what they wanted in the end. But I certainly don’t see how you can fault Saban for forcing his hand. He wasn’t anymore obligated to keeping Cochran than LSU was with Miles, just because of past service.

Big enough to shite on the entire LSU fanbase for 14 years running

His old job has been filled (by much smarter people), Saban is always on the lookout for analysts though.

Not obligated, but it seemed a little unceremonious in how it went down. I mean, what's really stopping Saban from giving him a shot with Special teams. Off the bat, you can't honestly say he would be a worse option than what you were already employing.
Unless of course he was some deeper personality issues that would make him unsuitable for the position. Saban would be in a position to know I guess.

Yeah, I bet you do. But he did leave a program soon in decline for a program on the rise, so………..
