Probably not but the game is somewhat of a holdover from the early days of southern CFB.
Lots of games were played off campus and in bigger population centers because it could bring in more revenue and some of those campuses were difficult to travel to.
Off campus games were played in Atlanta, Birmingham,Jackson, Jacksonville,Columbus Ga and even Tampa. No doubt a different world back then.

They (Malzahn and Dabo) seem to be doing pretty well.
Neither are above .500. I get why you see that as successful, but it's really nothing to hang a hat on.

Like I said and you seem hesitant to address....is during the time frame you quoted we rarely played, so yeas, of course it looks bad.
Feel free to tell me which post bush years we didn't play, that you really think you'd have won. Reality is you're both lucky, because that entire span y'all both would be 0-xx.

Well, chances are, Clemson pulls into .500 this year, so....that would give the as much right to brag as Alabama, and they would have two Titles since Alabama had one, right?
quote:Hey. Alabama might have been the favorite, but it isn't like you haven't been upset. Ole Miss twice. A&M. Are you somehow under the impression that the best team always wins? Or maybe we shouldn't play any of the games? maybe we should just give the highest ranked team the trophy and stop playing games altogether?

You can't be this obtuse, can you? Or......maybe you can.
