While I agree, I think he would have been fired after the 2010 season had it been Alabama and not Georgia.

Most would. Just kinda sucks seeing others in the SEC doing better. It's like
"hey I got a 94 on my final exam. I'm pretty pumped!"

The one thing that baffles me about the Richt criticisms is why Bama is so concerned with Richt. Other fan bases bust our balls, but Bama seems genuinely concerned with everyone knowing their problems with Richt.
We don't play yearly, so why concerned with constantly pointing out Richt's short-comings?
I think I know part of the reason, but it is still confusing.

It seemed to light a fire under Curry. The next season he went 10-2, won the SEC, and had us in the mix for the national championship.

Insecurity. The truth is, Alabama wants Mark Richt to remain the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs. Since Saban and Smart got to Alabama, recruiting in Georgia has become much easier. We're afraid that if Richt leaves and they replace him with Smart or some other coach, it would become more difficult to recruit in the state of Georgia.

We are in a bit of "no-man's land" at times with Richtbut not to thepoint Tennessee was in 07-08 at the end of Fulmer's run.
I likeourchancesto stay in the mix at the top of the SEC for the duration of Richt's tenure, just hope all the chips can fall into placefora MNC.
Richt will get it done, and you will get to win most of your games til then.

Most "new" Bama fans are very insecure. And suck.

I disagree. I think Bama has been scarred enough by shitty coaches that we would know to hang on to Richt. If he had all the success he has had at UGA. So stop being a salty cucumber.

I don't. You saw how quickly we got rid of Mike Shula. He went 10-2 in 2005, had us at #3 in the BCS coming into the game with LSU, and won the Cotton Bowl. The next season, we drop 6 games, and he's fired immediately. Many people were saying "WTF?" to that move until we hired Saban.
We did a similar thing to Bill Curry. He was a combined 19-5 in '88 and '89 but we ran him out of town after his third consecutive loss to Auburn.
To have such high expectations going into 2008, only to fall far below them, and then having mediocre 2009 and 2010 seasons would have been the death nail for any coach at Alabama.

Sorry, not meant as a flame. Just asking if Richts accomplishments at UGA would be acceptable at other SEC powerhouse schools.
At Bama, he would be on the hot seat iyam. 2 SEC titles in 12 seasons won't cut it with the PTB.
