its a shitty hire, the barn can twist it any way they want but when BVG was at UGA he had some of the most outstanding D Linemen in the SEC check the NFL but the secondary was always, always the problem

yea our secondary was never void of talent but always came off as the achilles heel. the front 7 was always the force. BVG was an A+ hire but yea, willie isn't too good of one. i may not call it shitty yet but i will go on the record as to saying i am 100% convinced that in several year auburn will have more angst than pride with slick willie.

Just posted this over on DR earlier... D-line covered up a LOT of issues with Dawg's secondary while BVG and WM were there... enjoy getting torched Barners...

i mean who knows, willie may get some improvement. the secondary before under roof was pretty atrocious, worse than most of willies atrocities

just saw that, and responded, bend but don't break relies on a good pass rush, that becomes more volatile in when the field gets shorter, but you must have a great pass rush for it to be successful

really it will be less getting crushed on deep balls but instead your defense will be a bend but don't break defense and you will give up every god damn 3rd down. your corners will be taught to not look for the ball and give tons of cushion. you will break remotes, you will scream obscenities, and your blood pressure will rise. luckily bvg will be good enough to bring in some talent in the front 7 and that will cover up the secondary deficiencies AU will have. just will be a rough transition because willie will always be behind

Again. So nothing is going to change. Opponents converted 49% of 3rd downs on AU's D last season, 108 out of 120. Cant get much worse.

What's laughable is all of the uga fans talk about how bad Martinez's secondary was while he was serving under BVG, yet they hired him as the DC when BVG left.
