team to ever assemble?

I'm assuming that this will be the case, especially if it's a big 10 team.

Yeah, that's what made me think of this. 01 da U is thrown around this way because they beat the big bad BIG10.

they beat the huskers who were a big 12 team the time. LSU did ut a huge favor by saving them from 01 da u.

i think the athletes on da u d would shut down the huskers

Nebraska did not even have a close game in 95. They beat the SEC Champs by 38.

Da U had two close calls against middle of the road Big East teams and they were coached by Larry Coker .

Edit: Big East not ACC.

the year a team does, they'll get enormous love from the media (assuming its undefeated season)

That is a good point. Any team that has the talent to overcome Larry Coker is legendary.

I would pay a shite ton of money to see those two teams play. I think they are clearly the best two teams of the era and probably ever.

Uhh nice try but no, this is why:

Among the numerous stars on the 2001 Miami squad were: quarterback Ken Dorsey; running backs Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee, Najeh Davenport, and Frank Gore; tight end Jeremy Shockey; wide receiver Andre Johnson, and Kevin Beard; tackles Bryant McKinnie and Joaquin Gonzalez; defensive linemen Jerome McDougle, William Joseph, and Vince Wilfork; linebackers Jonathan Vilma and D.J. Williams; and defensive backs Ed Reed, Mike Rumph, and Phillip Buchanon. Additional contributors included future stars Kellen Winslow II, Sean Taylor, Antrel Rolle, Vernon Carey, and Rocky McIntosh. In all, an extraordinary 17 players from the 2001 Miami football team were drafted in the first-round of the NFL Draft

Draft status doesn't mean anything as far as terms of best team in college. Nebraska was the best team between the two, and probably ever.

I know it really doesn't mean much in terms of team, and but 01 Miami was the best Team regarding Individual talent.

Miami had the most individual talent.

That I could agree with. And that, in itself is completely different from being the best team.

Depends if the team is a media darling like USC, ohio st, FSU (I can see jumbo gettig them back in the spotlight) or god forbid Boise st (they'll only win if Arkansas or UGA somehow miraculously make it)
Any other team and it will be just seen as the SEC having a down year but it will still tried to be rubbed in our face. We will take it back the following year tho...
