Due to the lack of "splash" in their initial year in the SEC does OU run the risk being seen in the same light as Mizzou. Like Mizzou, geographically and to some extent culturally, they aren't really a natural fit in the SEC. Yes they have a strong lineage, but it's not a Southern lineage. One has to wonder if given few more years of mediocrity they could become one of the more obscure teams in the super conference.

OU can only dream they are Mizzou....

Shut up mizzou. You wouldn't know what a cowboy was if he spit on your sandals.

it took some major f' ups by that same QB for Missouri to beat us at home.

Did you know Mizzou played their 3rd string QB the entire game?

You beat the 21st string Ohio St QB 14-3 and it’s your best win ever

Sorry that happened, hopefully OU stays healthy this year. I just think the excuses for the Mizzou game is lame when OU got beat by our 3rd string QB.

And it's okay that you're selling that.

See you in Norman, soon.

No, but I think it's possible that they're the next Nebraska. Given their histories, comparing them to Mizzou is a bit of a disservice.

We crushed a full strength dominant Virginia Tech team

on top of that our coach was bigger than the bowl sponsor mascot.

Counts as 2

You also lost to Mizzou that season as a higher ranked team and at full strength.

The Sooners will be a top third team most years. This is a true blueblood program and will find their way. They have gotten the short end of the stick schedule wise so far but at some point that will change. With the portal and NIL money we are all just one good coach hire away from being playoff contenders. As far as fitting in, who cares, just keep sending those checks.

We finished with the best record in college football that year and were the real national champions.

God speed to them all.
