Someone with a better understanding of the television contracts tell me how likely it’s a night game.

Depends on if CBS buys the 2:30 tv slot from ESPN. Espn would have to give up night game and CBS would get day game. If not it will most likely be a night game. And plus LSU will be coming off back to back 2:30 games against Miss St and Auburn

Important to note that all time LSU is 1-0 vs Alabama in CBS/ESPN Buyout games.

CBS gets first pick for 2:30 games and once a year they get a double header

ESPN gets to pick next for ESPN SEC night slot

CBS used its double header for Notre Dame / Georgia earlier this year

CBS is trying to buy the right to a second double header from ESPN (which they did in 2011)

I’d imagine the LSU/FL game had to be part of package. No way CBS would’ve let that game go.

So, I have a little inside info here due to a family member being employed by the CBS Sports marketing team. They have been shopping for sponsors for over 4 weeks now to see if they can get enough ad money to make the offer to ESPN. They have plenty. The offer will be made to ESPN likely next week.

The biggest issue is CBS has to put a game that afternoon so look for Mizzou/UGA to go in that time slot. They are having trouble getting big sponsors for that game but what they're getting for the LSU/Bama primetime slot is making it worth it.

The other issue is ESPN is going to be left with either Vandy/UF or UT/KY for their 6pm slot. They're going to take a huge loss on that Saturday.

That also leaves the ABC primetime game. That one will likely go to Iowa/Wisconsin unless Iowa slips up between now and then. The Big XII schedule is shite that day so that's out.

Surely this won’t be a problem if Missouri beat Kentucky

Whattt? CBS has the 2:30 time slot, which is the day game, already.

CBS could either buy the rights tonESPN’s contracted and unopposed SEC night game and have a double header, or sell ESPN the rights to 1st pick of SEC games that week and allow ESPN to air the LSU\ALA game on their night time slot.
