I am being completely honest, i could see Tennessee taking one home in the not too distant future

Pruitt is using a lot of Saban's system.

The O-line at UT is already stacked for next year.

The defense looked pretty stout towards the end of this season.

Tennessee is like Nebraska. They will NEVER see success again like they have in the past.

Everybody said the same thing about LSU in the 90s.

1999 3- 8
1998 4- 7
1997 9- 3
1996 10- 2
1995 7- 4- 1
1994 4- 7
1993 5- 6
1992 2- 9
1991 5- 6
1990 5- 6
1989 4- 7

By the way, they said the same thing about Alabama in the late 90s and early 2000s

The P5 emerged only a few years ago. These 64 schools continue to widen the gap between them and the G5 schools. The SEC and Big 10 are growing stronger every year, top to bottom.

Money is the big divider between the P5 and G5. Money attracts talent. I really think it’s possible for some of the big-money schools that don’t have strong winning traditions to reach equality with those that do. The next decade should see the likes of Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, TCU, UCLA and Wisconsin winning playoff spots and contending for the NC.

Those damn Missouri bastards should have won the BCS title in 2007. They will not get that close again.

LSU
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia

Big 5 until Tennessee can prove they can make it to Atlanta again a few times this century. Tennessee used to be a powerhouse. They are not now. They may be soon but now they are JV with aTm and State etc

How many years does Tennessee have to suck before losing it's "Big 6" card? What's it been? 20 years?

I can't see it. Not with how skewed recruiting is for the big guys. Maybe in the BCS Era where everything would've broken right & you just needed one game.

They won't beat 2/4 best teams in the country in a month

***thought I was on the MSB and OP was about a power 5 for some reason

You're talking about those 3 in late '50s and early '60s, right?

Maybe one of those is generally recognized. The other two are wishful thinking.

Wishful thinking from a school that also claims the 2003 Western Division championship, .

Pretty solid group, but I would add Miami and Pitt from the ACC. Just tooo much talent in South Fla for Miami to be excluded. Pitt has tremendous History, the right Coach and a couple of good recruiting classes they could take it to the next level. They win7-9 games a year now and have a solid base. ACC needs these 2 plus FSU to step up. FSU is on to something with Norvell.

Tennnerseee is headed back in the right direction. I think Proot can get them to 10 wins in the next couple of years. If he does, then they can contend in the east.

I have never understood why the AZ schools do not be more consistant. Rich Rod flaming out at ‘Zona was a surprise to me.

The BIG Xii is going to have to do something to play more physical. I think the 7-8 man High School ball in Texas has hurt that conference. Change my mind?

Iowa from the B1G puzzles me. Ferentz is solid, but just cannot make that last jump to the top.

Man, I love college football and discussing it. Hope to hear a few thoughts on my post.

The answer to your first question is money, support, and lack of being in bed with the NCAA

The answer to your second question is: no

yeah I disagree entirely... coming from a BAMA fan too. As much as it pains me to say I can see Tennessee getting right back to where they once were some 20-30 years ago... if they can once again capitalize on recruiting in their own backyard that is...

I fully expect the landscape of College football to change with the new pay to play rule coming down the road. If you can’t see it then you blind. No telling what schools will be in the mix in the future
