Too bad Les always saves all of his bullets for the Bama game. If LSU took every game on their schedule as seriously as they do the Bama game, they might be the team working on three national championships in four years instead of Bama. It's amazing how much better their preparation and game plans are for Bama compared to every other game on their schedule.
Yet we still win almost all of those games.
In the last 3 years, every game we have lost has been to a top 12 team and all went to BCS Bowls (except Clemson of course). Hard to get too worked up about that....
The more you look at Les' actual record the more impressed you are. People get WAY too caught up in style points. As if losing to Florida in the Swamp is a disgrace.
You can say "should have won by more" all you want but that's pretty weak. Just win baby. Now people are predicting our demise because they see the "tons of juniors left" headline and don't bother with the fact that we're bringing back 34 of 44 on the 2 deep and bring in an awesome class. People are in for a rude awakening in 2013.

EVER is a long arse time bro. Pretty sure just about every cycle that has happened will repeat itself over a long enough time frame. All of us will have our Curley's, Ears Whitworth's and Dooley's come down the pike again.
Voice of reason. Imagine one of our grandfathers saying that Notre Dame would one day hire a high school coach to run their program...he'd be laughed out of the room.

No.
However, Tennessee and Auburn have a very good head start for 15 years of Suckage.
Hope they both keep it up!

Actually Alabama had 10-12 years of wandering the wilderness and it followed a very set pattern.
1. Losing season
2. Mediocre season
3. 10+ win season with lots of success
That pattern repeated about 4 times
1997 - Losing season
1998 - Mediocre
1999 - Top 10, SEC Champions
2000 - Losing Season
2001 - Mediocre
2002 - Top 10, won the west but ineligible
2003 - Losing Season
2004 - Mediocre
2005 - Top 10, Cotton Bowl Champions
2006 - Losing Season
2007 - Mediocre
2008 - Top 10, national title contender, won the west, made a BCS game.
Every time a great season happen people declared Alabama 'back' but it never stuck, until Saban.
So even in that sucky decade Alabama could still pull together a top 10 team every now and then. Bad hires and NCAA issues lead to a lack of consistency.

Another important point is that Alabama rarely gets absolutely blown out. Even in years where they lose a ton of games, most of them are reasonably close.
The number of times Alabama has lost by 21 or more over the last 20 years is very small.
Meanwhile Auburn and Tennessee have been blown out (21+) more in the last 2-3 years than Alabama has the last 15.
