Why would Mullen be interviewing at the U?

I was led to believe from the MSU fans that he was happy there and nothing could lure him away.

Miami is a shite hole of a job. They have 5 fans.

Eh, everyone has a price. But I don't think Miami will pay it.

I wonder if one of those 5 fans happens to be a booster that could make it rain?

shite hole > Starkville
The u > prestige than State
Dade County recruits > Freeze's left overs
Pretty easy choice

I can see that. I would hate it for the SEC, though. I think Mullen keeps MSU relevant every year. Here's hoping the U takes Richt.
(Though I hated to see him fired.)

We recruit better than you do in state. Freeze's leftovers my arse.

The only thing that Miami has going for it is local talent...
Most of which don't want to play in front of the 5 die hard Miami fans.

He and his family seem pretty happy. Honestly I could see this being a tool to wrench our boosters for more money to pay his staff, or the athletic department in general. The Taj Mahal of college baseball isn't going to fund itself.

You very well could be right. It is no different than Saban squeezing his fan base/boosters with Texas.

Remember, no good coach would ever take an SEC job over a cushy job in the ACC.

Really? Then why didn't Les Miles bolt for Virginia Tech?

Because SEC programs are more willing to throw away money than other conferences
Kentucky is paying a coach 3.6 million a year to go 4-20 in conference
You could pay someone 750k to do that
Arkansas is paying a coach 4 million a year to go 7-17 in conference
You could pay someone 1.5 million to do that
Tennessee is paying a coach 3.5 million a year to go 10-14 in conference
You could pay someone 1.75 million to do that
Auburn is paying a coach ~5 million a year to go 13-11 in conference
You could pay someone 2 million to do that
This list goes on
