Petrino dropped Michael Dyer and his recruitment like a hot potato when money begin to be discussed and Auburn was in the picture.

Arkansas fans are pathetic. Is this seriously your explanation for losing out on Dyer?

Petrino didn't drop anything. He got outrecruited by a better coach and a better staff. Dyer had known Gus A LOT longer than Petrino, and I'm sure Dyer didn't wanna play for 1) an irrelevant program and 2) a coach that may leave in the middle of the night with the goodbye letter posted on his locker.

What is your beef with Dyer, other than him being another top recruit from your state that you couldn't hold onto?

Get over it already.

Sorry, there's nothing to see. The truth is that the NCAA Compliance Dept is using Auburn as the definitive case study on their next white paper "How to Run a Clean Program and Also Win Big"

Lets not forget the possible scenario that Auburn could get off scott free, Richard Jewel style.

Dyer choosing Auburn is insignificant to us. He plays for Auburn. He's a quality running back but we have quality running backs. He needed Auburn and Auburn needed him. ...but y'all got a bonus with the Dakota deal. He's a gem.

Did USC go away?? Well we don't know yet, time will tell. What we do know is that USC is the only premier football team in the #2 TV market in the country, a market that is 3x the size of Alabama, in the most populous state in the country. They also have little to no competition in the recruiting department in their state, so they don't have to leave LA County to land top classes.

Auburn, on the other hand, shares a state 1/3rd the size of the city USC is in with another premier program, the one who won it all 2 years ago, and must compete in the most cutthroat league as far as recruiting goes, as compared to the laid back Pac 12.

USC is within miles of the coast, with warm weather and beaches and glamour; they have location x3, they are a built-in recruiting machine by default. IN THE EVENT AU was to be sent down that path, they would end up like Bama was last decade because they don't have the same location perks as the USC's and Florida's of the world.

So USC is a terrible comparison, unless Auburn moves its campus to Southern California anytime soon.

As long as the NCAA is investigating the matter, rumors will surface. If there is a tape, it needs to be turned over to the NCAA. They may or may not have the tape, or incriminating evidence, but only the NCAA knows for certain where the investigation stands.

Yep. And the NCAA has come out on number of occasions and told everybody where it stands, but most people, for some reason, don't wanna hear it. There's nothing new.
