Weigman has already been yanked earlier this season and replaced with Reed!
To clarify ….
Weigman wasn’t “yanked” earlier in the season; he went down w a shoulder injury after the ND game; Reed was the backup/replacement.
It appears the two players have now been typecasted into [debatable] roles as the thrower (Weigman) and the runner (Reed).
It seems obvious, however, that even if those oversimplified labels are accurate (dubious), the team rallies around Reed more effectively.

Weigman needs to hit portal fast and hard. Kid has the goods to work with. Nobody on a TickleMe Elko coached team is going to know how to develop him.
Reed is perfect for Elko. Hike and run. Chunk it around sometimes.

His first several games he played like a no star. He surprised LSU, it won't happen again.
Poor aggies

Or is this a troll post?

If I could take away one QB from Aggie, it would be Weigman.
I would love for their only option to be Reed.

WTF? Reed completed 8 of his first 10 passes against UF in the Swamp, and had the team up 10-0 after the first 15 minutes.
Some of you sips just spew mindless garbage.

And so Weigman was brought back why?

Weigman is a 5-star that either plays like a 5-star or sucks. Reed is a 4-star that plays like a 4-star consistently. We have no idea what coaches see in practice every week. For every game rep that we as fans see, the coaches probably see 3 or 4 in practice and make their decision based on that. I trust Elko, so whoever he starts will be the right call.
That and running a read/option offense is total transition in offensive strategy in which the HC may not confidence.
Fortunately for A&M, they apparently have an OC who is well versed in running a read/option and run/pass type offense. I wish we were.

It’s two different offenses being used
You really don’t watch much do you

Earlier this season, Elko frequently said the starting quarterback would not be announced until game time.

Herbstreit mentioned that his son and Reed played on the same team. He cautioned people against assuming Reed is a run only QB. He said he can definitely make the throws.
We shall see.

Texas has three QBs far better.

I "watch" enough to know that Weigman has more NFL potential than say, Ewers, but he will never get the development and schematic support hanging out around Mike Elko.
Reed is best for Elko. And Weigman needs to hit the highway and find a serious offense.

That’s not what this thread is even about. Go start a new one if that’s what you want to discuss, and quit being such an insecure bitch.

I think you’re slightly misremembering the Weigman situation this season thus far.
(And it isn’t “Elko’s scheme” and play calling in which you believe Reed seems better fitted, it’s Klein’s)
Weigman is a solid QB. He hasn’t started many games due to injury, but he carved up Mizzou. Despite the current narrative, Conner only made a couple of bad passes vs LSU. He had little time to throw and not many open receivers. Hat’s off to the Tigers for preparing well for our Weigman offense. So in fairness, Weigman would benefit from: (a) better blocking; and (b) for our WRs to more effectively win their matchups. In the postgame presser, Elko said “we did not put Conner in a good position; that's on us [coaches] … receivers were not open.”
That said … in my opinion, the entire team (on both sides of the ball) seems more energized with Reed at the helm, but I have no data to back up that claim; it’s solely based on feelz. I fully trust Elko and Co. to know the reality.
Elko continues to be exceedingly supportive of both QBs, stating his decisions are based on what the team needs at any given moment. Many probably won’t like it, but I think all signs point to Elko going with two QBs the remainder of the season. And I don’t hate it. Makes preparation for our opponents darn challenging.
