Wrong. I am saying the real world Petrino is light years better than Nutt as a coach but if one is to use the same logic Laterian uses to claim Petrino is better than Miles then Nutt is the better coach.

Dude, I obviously know you can't compare two coaches based on 3 years of head-to-head, we say that to get a rise out LSU fans and it works. Doesn't change the fact Petrino is still a better coach than Miles. I honestly think if Petrino was hired at LSU rather than Miles he would've had even more success than Les.

Do you know what the prior 3 years record for Arkansas was before Nutt took over in 98? And what were the prior 3 years record for Arkansas before Petrino took over?

The answer is 15-20 (7-15 the prior 2 years) before Nutt took over.

And 22-15 (18-8 the prior 2 years) before Petrino took over.

I not only know the records but the personnel on those teams. Ford had the talent set up for Hootie when he came in. There was very little talent on the team when Petrino got here. In fact, with Hootie's recruiting and Reggie Herring's desire for small, fast Dlinemen we were grossly undersized. Then one if the expeced contributor's was kicked off b/c he held a girl hostage.

Is this too much information for you to digest or should I use smaller words?

There's no way for me to compare Miles and Petrino. We got to see Nutt coach here for 10 years, so I (we) can compare Nutt and Petrino. I don't think anyone would seriously consider Nutt a better coach than Petrino, it's not really even close.

The Miles/Petrino comparison irritates me, both are really good coaches, just with a different approach.

Yes, but without recruiting better I don't see how he can do much more than Nutt (Best Seasons: 10-3, SECCG Loss, BCS Bowl Loss etc, -- "more with less").

arky fans are assuming Petrino will change all this in the future. He may do this and he may not. The SEC is a tough league. Prove it, then you will get the respect you are looking for.

Works to get a rise out of you and your fellow hogs fans as well. Nutt is a horrible coach and I would hate for him to be the coach of LSU. I actually like Petrino and think he's a good coach, I wouldn't necessarily want him to coach here because I'm not a big fan of his character but he's a good coach.

You've already got a good coach anyways. Good recruiter and seems the kids love him. He wins consistently and is very good at bowl games too.

This is the answer. Until then you will have to live with the doubters.

I agree with this. However....LSU really needs to either win another championship or beat arkansas again sooner rather than later or you will have doubters about miles...even in your own fanbase

That's life. We're judged on what we produce. An additional challenge is managing reasonable expectations. I do 't expect Arkansas to field teams like LSU or Bama on a consistent basis. We don't have the inherit advantages. That would be like expecting a broker in Hiwassee, Arkansas to close as much volume in sales as someone in NYC. Not a reasonable expectation.

Telling yourself this 1000 times will make it true. Keep going while we amuse ourselves.

One of the many criteria for being an LSU coach aside from coaching competence is being honorable and not a lying jump ship. Petrino failed for obvious reasons.

You could go out of state and recruit in places like east Texas?
