Florida will be compensated for the loss of this weekend's home game through insurance.

How? The insurance policy is triggered for canceled games, not postponed. If the game is played at a later date, no insurance kicks in.

UF didn't ask to get hit with a hurricane don't punish them for it.

No but they did drag their feet all week and make it very clear that not playing the game was a ok with them

You have seen the schedule right? This years game is scheduled for Gainesville, FL.
Yes. Florida cancelled it. quote]If LSU moves next years game to Florida and 2018 is still played in Florida, what you ask is probably doable but that is up the SEC to decide.[/quote] There is no reason for any other games to be rescheduled. You'll still come to BR next year and we'll come to Gainesville in 2018. You had a hurricane and that sucks for you.

I would be open to it provided we move the A&M game from Thanksgiving back a few days.

Which is why it would never happen. Aggie runs this shite.

Being the Bama teacher's pet has its advantages.

We've moved past that discussion. Either make the game up at UF on 11/19 or let it be cancelled.

This wouldn't include us going to UF next year, would it?
Absolutely not. Just like if the game had been moved to BR or a neutral site this weekend. We'd still have next year's home game.

I think LSU is more worried about making the game up than UF so they probably won't be bending to any LSU demands.

Well no we haven't because we're not going to bend over backward to accommodate the school that has orchestrated this entire situation.

Because Bama wanted the Mississippi schools to play that day instead.

Duh.

It's my understanding that insurance is for loss of a home game. Under this scenario FLA would completely lose a home game and insurance would cover that.

As evident by the fact that Florida has wanted this game canceled from the jump.

That really doesn't matter for any reason other than internet posturing.

If UF would agree to reimburse LSU the approximate $5MM they lose in buyout and revenue, this might be a fair offer.

Otherwise, it's a punishment to LSU for the incompetence of UF administration as well as a natural disaster that in no way involved LA. LSU would still be punished having to play 3 away games consecutively, one being Thursday. But they might sacrifice that out of the goodness of their hearts and pity for the plight of FL.

So, ball's in UF court, will they pay?

Seems like the UF AD is getting everything he wants without repercussion.

Donald Trump would call him a genius.

no, probably not.

So if LSU is worried about the potential SEC west tiebreaker they will have to play at UF with the SEC paying the cancellation fee for whatever team they had scheduled on 11/19.

Business perspective: Foley did well

College Football perspective: UF forfeited
