i do not hate the sec. on the contrary i enjoy SEC battles very much. the only thing i dont get is the my conference is better than yours crap. i do not care for other teams in the pac 10. i only worry about SC. to me its weird when a fan of any team other than LSU or Florida talks smack to me that they are champions and SC couldnt hang with them. LSU and Florida have two BCS titles in the SEC, not the other teams. thats my only gripe.

ya that is strange.. but i really think people do it because it bothers out of conference teams so much. In last years cotton bowl the fans constantly chanted SEC SEC and it really seemed to get under T Techs skin. I mean to go 11-1 and get smoked by the 4th best team in the conference kinda sucks.

Chanting "SEC" has become so popular, I think even the Utah fans were doing it in the Sugar Bowl.

Maybe the chatting SEC at the end of the countless bowl victories has finally gotten to them/ They hate us just like everybody hates teh NY Yankees. Year in and out we he the dominating conference.

The other conferences don't root for each other in bowl games. Even hated rivals will usually root for each other in bowl season so the SEC will look better. That is why they hate us, and I can fully understand why because after every bowl win we always go "SEC! SEC SEC!"

I always enjoy hearing the envy of other peoples comments against the SEC. I have read some real gems on the espn message boards from some OOC fans, real good stuff.

This is completely overplayed, FWIW.
I know a shite-ton of Big10 fans who root for the conference in every bowl game. I know a lot who don't.
I hear a shite-ton of people on here say "S-E-C, S-E-C" and I've read a lot of post that say frick UF/Bama/ETC, why root for a rival?

To be honest, I hold nothing but respect for the SEC.
I just think a lot of the rantards have run wild with the title they currently hold. But, that would happen anywhere. And, fwiw, LSU fans were pretty badass in NO.

The SEC is the best conference right now, IMHO. When you are the best at something, all those who are not the best are going to hate on you.
The better you are, the more hate you get. Just the way it is.
From a USC fans perspective, there is no need for us to be jealous of any team in College Football. Nobody has been as consistently good as we have for some time now. The same can be said for the SEC collectively, as a conference.

I just love the way preppy, skinny, wussy little conservative Republican Southern white boys beat their chests about and hide behind the on-field achievements of rap-listenin', locks-wearin', brothas who they would not even let in their front yards if they were not carrying a football......and act like it is some kind of vindication of their masculinity vis-a-vis white boys in other parts of the country (who are proportionally speaking more common in the NFL than white Southern boys are)
