Texas A&M didnt play any of the teams in the playoffs.

Ole miss played 2 and went 1-1

Better loss and Ole Miss beat 2 playoff teams.

The committee knew that Tulane was locked in the #11 spot, and that Ole Miss beat them by 35 in the regular season. They made this matchup on purpose. Maybe it’s to protest the automatic qualifier rule, or maybe they want to be sure to get their G5’s out quickly
