A bama fan has already pointed out his only decent games last year were two games in the NCAAt.

Nelson came up big against the better opponents AND he was playing out of position last year:
Against NO. 1 Seed UNC 24 points
Against Clemson 8 points
Against No. 1 overall Seed UCONN 19 points
This year he's averaging 12 points per game with his average dropping due to his injury.

Looks like you just agreed with my original post. He had two good games in the tournament last season, two stinkers, and one game with a ho-hum 8 points.
Objectively, he's not very good.
Subjectively, he often gets manhandled on the boards and can't shoot from outside worth a shite.

He was a 27% 3-point shooter last year but this year he's dropped to 24%. He's not great I know but he's not that bad. He's just not physical under the basket but his play has diminished overall through the course of this season. And I think his diminished performance is due to the injury which has taken a mental toll on him as well. He can't even make FTs now.

It might be alabamas style of play too. Hard for anyone to get post touches. I hooe someone can step into pringles shoes on the boards in huge moments. He was selectively huge during the run last year and i dont know who can go into beast mode on the boards like he did "sometimes"
