None of the teams you mentioned were very good in the years you played them.

And now you play a Lamar Jackson-less Louisville team next year. Gee, I guess you guys are just lucky like that.

We're probably going to have a home and home series with somebody starting in 2020 or 2022. I'm so here for it.

Show me another team that has played opening games the quality of the ones below on neutral fields almost every year:

2008 - Clemson 7-6
2009 - Va Tech 10-3
2012 - Michigan 8-5
2013 - Va Tech 8-5
2014 - West Va 7-6
2015 - Wisc 10-3
2016 - Southern Cal 10-3
2017 - FSU 7-6

I realize you can't control a team's talent when you schedule them but bama should have won every one of those games. That 2009 Va Tech team was the best team you played.

Go back and see what they were ranked before we broke their wills.

Waiting for UF's list.

Let's see your openers for the same period.

The media absolutely manipulates preseason rankings to provide banter for the early season games. Yet another reason why rankings shouldn't come out early.

Would you rather Alabama schedule Central Florida or Florida State?....or Michigan?...or Southern Cal? Do you honestly believe that UCF is gonna be a powerhouse football program going forward?....man, please!

List the same opener data for Auburn.

Bama will never, never, go home and home with UCF unless they absolutely have too.

Arkansas is going home and home with Colorado State because Michigan backed out at the last moment and left us holding the bag. You don't go home and home with a G5 opponent unless you are either getting a 2 for 1 deal or you are dirt cheap.

That having been said, I do think a neutral site game or UCF coming to Tuscaloosa would be a good game for both programs. UCF is squatting on a talent rich area. Beating them would be a solid G5 win for the Tide and help in recruiting Florida.

Help me out with the list of the last 5 OOC games Florida played outside the state of Florida.

Of course not. Even if Alabama scheduled them, they would make it so far out that they would almost guarantee them sucking. I dare them to schedule them for next year and cancel a cupcake.

a home and home with UCF

They've had one good year and you want Bama to give them a home and home? What does it gain Bama to give up home game revenue in the millions to go play in UCF's 45,000 seat stadium?

Get real man. When UCF is 7-5 or 8-4 next year they'll be back to the non-story they've been for the vast majority of their non-Donte Culpepper existence.

Why would they cancel one cupcake to just play another?

Well now if teams could control an opponents talent when they make the schedules don't you think that assclown Jay Jacobs wouldn't have inserted Clemson into Auburn's schedule in 2012/2016/2017 resulting in 3 losses?

Who the hell would YOU have Alabama play for season openers?

Even for a troll, this is really stupid. There are 120 plus teams in D1. Teams play a 12 game regular season, with 8 games already reserved for conference play in the SEC. Asking why one program doesn't play some random OOC with no historical or geographic connection is silly.

Also, these games are scheduled years in advance. A few years ago, UCF would have been a rent-a-win. With the coach and best players leaving, they're likely to return to that status pretty quickly

Edit: damned autocorrect

I keep calling UCF to schedule, but they won’t return my calls.
