Why you chose the Tide? Probably because your self-worth was too fragile to stand up and support your true alma mater (if you went to college at all).
It's easy to be an Alabama fan. Just pick the front runner. But it also sucks - you have to win it all or the season is a failure.
People of value root for their true school through thick and thin - because the good times make up for the bad times, but the overall experience is far more rewarding.
For the slim number of Bama fans who actually went to school there? Congrats on your football success - I know it's rewarding. But it must really suck dealing with all those bandwagoners.

You know UA is actually a pretty large school with a pretty big alumni base? Isn’t it like 35K undergrad or something close?

Sure it is. Now compare that to the size of their bandwagon population. Everything is relative. Especially in Alabama.

I get your point. I hate bandwagons just as much as anyone. That’s gonna happen in any sport. People are losers and need to feel like a winner so they’re a “Bama fan”. I hate the ones who have no ties to the state or anything. At least be from there or have spent time there then I might give you a pass.
