I think this state has proven that having the Iron Bowl every year is a bit too much to handle for some of our... less educated fans.

I do agree somewhat but, do you really want 1825 days of pent up anger between each game. I think it could eventually make things worse. One thing about the idiot with herbicide is he was neither born in the state or went to either school. If I'm not mistaken he'd only been living in Alabama for maybe 2 years total before he went all Sly Sludge.

Don't get me wrong, I love it and all, but it's not so head-and-shoulders above our other rivalries that I'd take the Iron Bowl every year over annual games with Georgia, Florida, and to a lesser extent, Tennessee.

Not sure how many other AU fans will agree with me here, but I know some others share my sentiments.

You make a good point, but I love the SEC even though it sucks Bama'a sack. Also, If were were to go to another conference why bring Alabama? I mean they already have the advantage in the SEC.

Add two more teams and it is not the SEC anymore. It is two 8 team conferences pretending to be one conference.

Then Alabama is going to go to Montgomery and tell them to lick balls and we'll see you every 4-6 years because we'll be keeping Tennessee. Then we'll welcome LSU to December.

Pretty sure it wouldn't work out this way. But good luck.

UGA fans should known by know that we're not called the plainsmen, dammit

I wonder if the writer lurks here. We've had this exact same discussion numerous of times

I thought part of the premise was Bama has all the power in the SEC.

Apparently. Auburn now has no problem ending arguably the greatest rivalry in sports. Damn.

We're confusing premises again. I'm saying if it happened it'd be on yall to figure a way to keep UT. Iron bowl is going nowhere

With Montgomery full of UA grads and the consistency of 3rd Saturday in October, I disagree. Those guys would be more than happy to drop the IB for the 3rd. It would be just another chance to give you guys the old screw job and keep you off of national television for a game. Because either way Alabama will be on national tv at the end of November.

If A&M wanted to be in a conference with Texas (and OU) there was an easy solution--stay in the Big 12. But they wanted out--and got out.

i've already said i'd be for Georgia's secession, I just would rather go independent than having to orchestrate some half arse replacement for the SEC.

but if they preserve our rivalries then i think i am cool with staying put
