You must be young?

When the 1992 expansion occurred and each team had two set games against the other division Auburn requested uga and Florida a school we had a long standing rivalry with at the time.

bama asked to play Vandy plus the TSIO.

In other words, for those slow on the uptake, you wouldn't make it to Atlanta any more often.

You are confused. It has always been bama's bitch arse scared to play Florida and Georgia. AU has played those two teams more often than any two teams in the SEC. Us wanting to play Florida is the sole reason the SEC made two cross division rivals for everyone after the 1992 expansion.

Until expansion, AU was playing UGA, UF, and Bama every year and playing Tenn almost every year.

Bama wanted Vandy as their big rival and I believe Vandy and MSU are the SEC teams Bama has played the most lol.

Just looked it up.

Bama has played MSU more than anyone. Second most was Vandy until a few years ago. Tenn is now #2 since Bama lost their annual Vandy game.

Bama has played Florida the least, not counting the expansion teams. They have played UGA the third least not counting expansion teams.

Would mean trips to Atlanta maybe 2 out of every 3 years, and they’ve shown they can beat Bama when they get there.

You're a pretty smart feller. Ummmm....exactly when did Auburn beat Alabama in Atlanta?

Also, do you know what Auburn's record is against Georgia over the past 16 years?
In the last 16 years Auburn is 5-12 against Georgia.

In the last 17 times they have played, Auburn is 6-11 against Florida.

The last 17 times they played Tennessee they are 9-6-2, and we all know how bad Tennessee has been lately.

So, let's just hold your horses on the "They would win the East 2 out of 3 years rhetoric, because there is a decent chance they would be roughly the same.

They would still play Alabama every year.

If you don't pay attention you might not want to say too much. Or at least check on the facts.

We could give up the regular season Iron Bowl, it would be played in Atlanta every year.

How do you figure that's going to happen when Auburn can't beat Georgia or Florida?

I'm pretty sure UGA has beaten Auburn 10 of the last 12 times they played.

And they have a similar record against Florida!

Auburn has beaten Florida the last 3 times they played them and 4 of the last 5. Our path to the east would largely depend on uga playing down to UTk and failing at the Cocktail party both scenarios happen with great regularity.

And before that Florida had reeled off 7 straight wins against Auburn. Auburn took advantage of a severely weakened Florida team the last 5 years. That seems to be changing, though.

Let's take a look at this, then:

The last 18 years Georgia is 12-6 against tennessee.
The last 10 years we are 7-3.

The last 10 years we are 4-6 against Florida, but the last 7 years we are 4-3 against Florida,(including a 42-7 beat down this past year) so it would appear as if we are turning the corner on Florida.

Maybe you ought to look at the history of the rivalry a bit closer.

Why don't you pick a time frame and stick to it? You seem to select time frames that benefit your uga argument.

Case in point...Florida has beaten Auburn only 1 time since 2001. In the same time period uga is 6-11 vs Florida.

Take this up with your AD. There is nothing preventing him from putting these proposals up for a vote at the Spring meeting

Melt. fricking. Down.

On a serious note, this is the exact kind of response I hoped for when I made that post, but didn't think anyone would take the bait. This is too easy, y'all aren't even fun anymore. The end of the season has really done a number on the Auburn fans. But I guess you have your 26-14 to clutch.

Because Bama doesn't want us to. And as long as the rest of the SEC outside of Auburn step-and-fetch at Bama's beck and call as they always have, Auburn will still not go to the East.

Your AD never put it up for a vote. Now that you have a new AD ask him to start lobbying the 12 other schools to vote to move the University of Auburn to the East. It’s a very simple process
