I live in Collierville, that is the Kroger where we shop that had the shooting, I knew some of the people shot, you're going way over the top here.
My aunt was at Kroger when that happened, but as you and I know, what happened there could have happened anywhere. A disgruntled (Asian) employee losing his mind and shooting up a business isn't exactly the type of things responsible for the crime in Memphis. Collierville and Germantown are safe as hell.

That’s so far from the truth.
There are more SEC basketball fans in Memphis than Memphis Tiger fans. I don’t even think the Tigers have sold all of their season tickets for basketball and they are supposed to be legit
There are not more SEC basketball fans than Memphis, that's laughable. Most people (I'm not one, but most are) here still hate Calipari, so they definitely don't like Kentucky. Memphis people are not cheering for either Miss. school, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Georgia, Florida or anywhere else in basketball. Maybe a handful might pull for UT, and some may have started liking Arkansas during the Nolan Richardson era, but it's clearly a Tiger town (basketball). Tigers are bigger than the Grizzlies still.

Honestly, I know more Duke/Carolina/Michigan etc. fans from Memphis than SEC fans from Memphis...

Shut down the mall, alot of the restaurants have closed, the day i left some one had busted out every window of the new town homes in the pinch district, over $100k in damage.
I lived there when they shutdown the worst projects and spent Mr Bealz spent a fortune to clean it up.
Even Beale has gotten worse. If you think Memphis is nice or safe, i cant imagine where you must come from.

Bahahahahaha Tigers aren’t bigger than Grizz that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard.
There are more TN, Bama, OM, State, LSU and Arkansas fans in Memphis than Memphis Tiger fans. They don’t have great support in any sport which is why they can’t sell out their basketball arena when they are supposed to be legit. One of the reasons they are stuck in the garbage American conference
1/4 of the people that go to Memphis Tiger basketball games aren’t fans they just go cause they were given tickets to a basketball game. I lived in that city for 28 years if my life.
Memphis Tigers don’t have true fans at all. Grizz are way more popular in that city and yes there are way more SEC football AND basketball fans in that city

You claimed downtown hasn’t gotten better when you moved in early 2000s. Might be one of the if not the dumbest things I’ve heard all day.
Downtown has boomed the last 10+ years
South main has gone crazy. About 5 new hotels (nice ones) just in last few year, FedEx moved office downtown, Terminix is downtown.
If by mall you mean where Terminix is HQ now?
Also, naturally the area by Pyramid went bad when it wasn’t being used. Not rocket science.
Beale is much safer than it was in early 2000s
Kevin Adam’s is doing a massive project downtown by Redbirds stadium. Soccer team is crazy popular in that city as well. Tons of new restaurants downtown. Forgot about Bass Pro downtown.
Do research on the boom downtown and then talk son

Some people ITT sound like my father who thinks downtown is still like it was in the 80s and refuses to go (yet has a contract with Methodist North
)

The mall shut down because no one went except idiots loitering. White people don’t go to malls anymore. The Atlanta malls have the same issues, even Phipps. The Collierville outdoor “mall” has none of these problems.
You’re 100% wrong on the restaurants. There are 5x as many restaurants now than there were 15 years ago.

Lived and worked there for many years, you must be complete trash to think Memphis is anything other than a slum.
Posted on 10/21/21 at 5:54 pm to lewis and herschel
Righhhhhht and you probably think Atlanta is nice.
Again you sound like an idiot saying it’s gotten worse since the 2000s when in fact it’s done the opposite. Just saying you have no clue what you are talking about and done no research.
And yes most inside malls suck across the world cause most people don’t even go to malls anymore and to stop the loitering everywhere they have done the outdoor malls
Also I live in Naples, Fl now which is nicer than any part of Georgia pal

Atlanta is far nicer than Memphis but I live in Nashville and greatly prefer it to both. No comparison.

People talking about malls in 2021 is hilarious. He prolly mad cause he lost 20 dollars worth of quarters at the arcade at XYZ mall gambling on the quarter sliding machine in 1986.

Because - frick Memphis. Nashville is centrally located.

Nashville hot chicken = stupid and not good.
Gus's > any Nashville hot chicken
Memphis 1.
Nashville 0

Brah. I’ve stayed in the Westin which is about 15 steps to Fed Ex Forum and the Peabody. Both are perfectly fine hotels. I feel safer in the area around Beale St than just passing through New Orleans

Go to a Grizz game when they play the Lakers...if the Forum holds 20k, 5k will be Laker fans, MINIMUM. You're trying to tell me Ole Miss is gonna bring that many fans to the Forum? Lol if they do, they should start with their home games lol
UT's men probably just started getting better attendance than the women after Coach Summitt passed. People in Memphis collectively aren't checking for SEC basketball like that.

False. UT basketball has almost always had good attendance

It’s that way almost everywhere Lebron plays

Yes, if Ole Miss played an SEC game in the forum they’d draw more people than a Memphis State game
Deal with it. SEC has waaaaaay more support than fricking Memphis. Always have, always will. This is just a bad take. Even the people I know who actually do care about Memphis don’t think like you.

Naples has never held a G8 summit and Augusta National is the finest 200 acres on the earth.
Also comparing Atlanta to Memphis or New Orleans is laughable
