That’s so far from the truth.

There are more SEC basketball fans in Memphis than Memphis Tiger fans. I don’t even think the Tigers have sold all of their season tickets for basketball and they are supposed to be legit

It shouldn't rotate anywhere, it should always be in Atlanta.

This is way off

Memphis loves SEC football because it's a large city in the South without a flagship university in any other major conference. Even if Memphis was good at football, which they have actually been for awhile now, Memphis would still be an SEC city. There are like 8 SEC schools within a 3-4 hour drive from Memphis. Those alums grew up in and many still live in Memphis. Would you say Atlanta is only an SEC town because Ga State and Ga Tech suck at football? Or Birmingham is because UAB sucks? or New Orleans because Tulane sucks? No, because that's ridiculous.

The way Miami is about "the U" in football and Louisville is about their Basketball, that's how Memphis is about Tiger basketball.

Not even close. Tiger high has a decent basketball following but you're going way over the top with that.

It should honestly just stay in Nashville if anything

ATL has more crime than anywhere and the basketball schools in this conference are much closer to Nashville than Atlanta

Right, because all that "crime" in Atlanta has hurt the SEC title game in football.

And I doubt they have since Derrick Rose was in college and before that when Anfernee Hardaway was in college. Tiger High has band-wagon Memphians that pretend they care when they're good. But, at the end of the day, it's a commuter school with no real school loyalty when it comes to athletics. It's no different than a school like MTSU, UAB, etc.

I'm all for Memphis, or NOLA. Get the game out of ATL, at least not every year. ATL is just too generic and corporate. The stadium is an abomination of architecture.

We don’t have to make it about crime.

No basketball school is closer to Atlanta.

There is a reason it’s always more heavily attended in Nashville compared to Atlanta

It’s in Tampa this year then back to Nashville for 6 more years right?

Keep it out of Atlanta. Too far for the basketball schools in the SEC

Once Nashville builds a new stadium. Have heard they are wanting to build a dome to host a SB look for the football championship to be moved out of ATL every year

If we're all being honest, how many people attend the SEC basketball tournament is dependent on how long Kentucky lasts. It's always been that way.

Agree with that but when Arkansas is good we will pack that place.

It’s usually Kentucky mostly and then Arkansas

I love when Kentucky gets bounced early cause their tickets books they sale for cheap haha

Yeah I can agree with that. And if the tournament were in Memphis, there would be A LOT of Arkansas fans there. Back when it was in the Pyramid when Nolan Richardson was coaching, that place was packed. I think they actually played Kentucky in the SECT that year.

Sorry you are poor and have to live in Corinth.

Again I live in Desoto county and have for over 25 years… only still here cause I’m helping family.

When the supply chain continues to get worse I’ll take my family land in northeast MS over Memphis any day.

This will be my last post as this isn’t meant to change anyone’s opinion. I look at stats, I look at trends, and I look at facts. Small towns have plenty to do if you are content with life and don’t need “things” for worth of it. Corinth has plenty for me and again a much better place to raise my kids.

Remember why the mid south fair isn’t in Memphis, or why the Peabody Place got shutdown, or how many bodies were dropped off at the front of the pyramid, or why the Mall of memphis or any mall in memphis for that matter can’t survive, or why cops were stationed at every on ramp for 8 months from potential random shooters on the interstate, or… you get the point.

Ever get shot at while taking your kids to the zoo? I have

Ever get shot at while going to the fair? I have

Ever seen a UCF family get beaten and mugged outside the Liberty bowl because they parked on the “wrong side of the street”? I have

Memphis had potential but they always ALWAYS frick/fricked it up.

Good luck in your shithole “city.”

I’ll take most small towns in the Sip any day.

Where the frick are you going and/or who are you hanging out with if you personally know three people murdered in the last month and have been shot at multiple times? Either you're lying to make a point or you're in a gang. I don't care how dangerous Memphis is or isn't, your personal experience is not normal in the least. I know no one personally who has been murdered and know no one personally that has ever been shot at. I grew up in Memphis and most of my friends and family still live there, so I have plenty of anecdotal evidence myself.

All of this happened to you, and you know 3 people murdered recently? That kind of reeks of a little bit of BS to be honest with you.

I probably would to or my original small hometown in Alabama. I live in Collierville, that is the Kroger where we shop that had the shooting, I knew some of the people shot, you're going way over the top here.
