There’s only so many people in the area who are looking to attend baseball games in person, and most of those will choose the Braves over UGA.
Which is why the focus audience should be the UGA students but rather than make it super student friendly like Swayze at Ole Miss, they’ve been mid at best at attracting students and adversarial at worst (planting trees at the top of Kudzu hill to block the view of the off campus houses was a major salvo against the student crowd)

Wow, I can be petty but that's superhuman. I'm sure the loss of revenue from those dirty grifters was worth it.

UGA is competitive at a fair number of other sports besides football. We just don't really care about them individually.
You use "we" as if you speak for all Georgia fans. You don't. Many of us do care about sports other than football. I personally would love to see us on top in every single sport.

Y'all have a stickied thread in your forum that's 20 pages and counting, but sure.

The HOPE scholarship helps Georgia kids go to school without incurring huge debt. It has benefitted the state as well as the students who qualify.
It has also made the U of Ga a Public Ivy. Kids who once left the state of Georgia to attend the Yales, Harvards, Michigans, Virginia’s, etc are now deciding to stay home and apply at UGA. A 3.0 won’t get you in the U of Georgia. Not even close. UGAs academic requirements allow them to pick and chose among the best students. Just like the football team chooses who is good enough to play between the hedges. Those who can’t qualify or aren’t talented enough end up at the AUs and UTs.
If and when Georgia fans decide they want a great baseball team the powers that be will make it happen. Right now not many UGA fans give a damn about baseball. If you are in Athens for the day or watching tv and Georgia baseball is home for a game, dropping by the baseball field or tuning in is a good way to pass some time. Not many are going to make the effort to be there or watch at home otherwise. It’s football that matters at UGA. And at every other SEC school. No use denying it - football is top Dawg and the other sports are simply things to fill in the gap before the fall.

Our lost AD turned his nose up at all the kids who would drink and carry on from atop the hill because he thought they were vulgar and unsporting (they absolutely were). But they were also a massive home field advantage (especially postseason) and usually created the energy you felt in the stadium during big weekend series.
Trying to passively cut them out was and still is a massively stupid thing to do

They were the only ones who seemed to give a damn and the partying and drinking played a big part in that. They were rude and not good representatives for UGA. I’m glad they were dealt with.

I attacked you personally? No, I attacked everyone personally I guess.
Never said you brought up politics.. politics found it's way into the thread from other posters. That's how crazy people are these days.
I will take a break from this place because it sucks and has nothing of value, and the people posting seem to have the emotional intelligence of children. Guess I'm personally attacking again there. Actually, I'll probably remove the bookmark from my phone and forget this site.
Have a nice day as well.

A poster who routinely shits on UF's academics wants to declare UGA a "public Ivy." You can't make this up.

The state of Georgia is loaded with talent. Absolutely loaded.
Not only that but we have the HOPE scholarship which basically covers all tuition and fees as long as you maintain a 3.0 GPA. So D1 baseball programs in the state don't even have to use up one of their precious 11.7 scholarships for baseball.

I’m not the one who declared Georgia a Public Ivy. UGA was given this designation a few years ago by the academic services that rank universities.
Check it out if you doubt it. Georgia IS a Public Ivy

Facilities suck.
11.7 is all you got
Team was setup to be a contender the year Covid killed the season
Coach isn’t the guy

It used to, but I am pretty sure this is no longer the case. It does help, but doesn't cover nearly anything anymore.

I haven't seen this, so I won't argue the point. But.....you really crap on Florida academics?
