Do you even Hammerin' Hank bro?

I just use that as a singular example because the STATE of Alabama as a whole has produced some of the greatest sports stars and influential figures of all time. There would be a massive hole in American history and sports both professional and college without Alabama and we have a lot of things to be proud of here. Can't say the same for that toilet.

I am sorry teams from this great state have been raping the competition for the last few years, but what do you want us to do about that?

But during football season; during these blessed few months of the year...

Their state is what it is, like I described, but there are "valid" reasons behind it. I think I read somewhere there was a saying/bumper stickers/whatever going around during either the 60s or 70s that said "last in education, last in roads, first in football" or something similar.

Back in the old days alabama was just as bad if not worse than mississippi in a lot of ways. Absolutely awful at everything. Schools, highways, buildings, race riots, I mean just everything about the state was a national laughing stock. But they had the bear, and that was their ONE thing they could hang their heads high at. And that attitude procreated and was passed on to other generations and now it will never go away. I'm sure there are parents out there telling their kids "it's alright jimmy, it doesn't matter that [insert event], the tide just won the national title".

Head south of Macon.

Been there plenty of times, I never said we're immune to it. But AL has it much worse than we do, and where I lived was less than 2 hours drive from both UA and AU.

nope Alabama=closet smarts.

tCapstone has had more USA Today Academic All American's than any other school (at least that was true as of a couple years ago).

Actually it was probably something along the lines of in the last 5 years, once they started focusing on increasing education quality, quality of instate students, and attracting quality out of state students.

You try way to hard. Every post you start/everything you say is ignorant and a massive generalization. Can be funny at first but it's just now getting tiresome.

So you are saying the majority of people in Alabama aren't fanatical about college football?
