So you are saying UNC does offer engineering and architecture?

you can't say it is a better university than Clemson.
it is not me saying it, it is the US government and most any college president in the USA including Clemsons past and current president.

so you've been talking to all the college presidents?
i don't get the impression that you went to any college. i don't even know what college you are a fan of.
what matters is how employers view universities, not the government or college presidents. It is employers that hire graduates.
obviously employers of engineers and architects prefer Clemson grads to UNC grads, a college that does not offer engineering and architecture programs.
Students who major in STEM fields generally make more than liberal arts and business types, and colleges like Clemson and NCSU graduate more STEM people than colleges like UNC.

Yes, I know several of them, as well as some board members at several schools

Clearly you have little clue of schools inner networks in landing jobs for their grads. I am pretty familiar of how it works at several of the IVY schools.

Then you need to pay attention more.

In addition to those points, Clemson is within a two-hour drive of two SEC schools. Clemson is closer (in proximity) to UGA than any SEC school is. About 3 and a half to Knoxville and Auburn. Other than Tennessee, Clemson plays those schools pretty often. Personally, I like college football, and people that do.
As an added bonus, it pisses off a few clowns who are upset with Clemson's success.

you are one of these guys who doesn't think for himself. literally every opinion aoubt schools comes from US News which is a bunch of liberal arts type people ranking schools that they didn't attend using random sets of data.
one thing US News overemphasizes is selectivity.
But if a college is a small private school, it obviously going will be selective, it is not required to take x number of in state students, plus there are less seats.
That's why you see tiny schools like Wake and Vandy at the top of the rankings but being small and private isn't proof the programs are better than other colleges. both wake and vandy have tiny alumni networks, and in my view, you are much better going to a large state school because there are more alumni from those schools in hiring positions.

This statement makes no sense?
I was discussing the inner networks of top academic schools and you ramble on about USNWR (which I put very little value in).

ok but how can you say UNC is better than a school that offers challenging programs that UNC doesn't?
most large universities do offer engineering and architecture. UNC is a rare exception.
UNC is a hippie chick school.

none of that has anything to do with employers. Academic people don't hire most of the graduates. Employers do.
Clemson is a highest tier Carnegie Classification research university.

And who do you think rec's the employers?
Lots of jobs / employment goes on at the Harvard / Yale football weekend.

lol you sound like a podunk guy who wants to sound all intellectual by name dropping Harvard and Yale.
why do you do free marketing for colleges that you have no affliation with. lol

Not really, perhaps this will put it in a way you can understand
GUNS = ENG school
BUTTER = LAW school
Georgetown is a hell of a LAW school but Princeton is the ENG school. Both are well ahead of Clemson and have better global networks to place their graduates.

i love it when people who have no independent knowledge of universities compare and rank them. It is like reviewing and comparing two restaurants you never been to. lol you have no credibility.

I have connections with Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, and MIT
I am not as connected to Brown and Yale.

nobody can corroborate any of this but you have no knowledge of Clemson yet you make a lot of assertions about it.
I don't think it is typical that an Ivy League grad spends hours talking up SEC teams as you do, to include women's basketball.
