Prolly.. I was young though. But on the other hand.. that's one thing I liked about Stallings, he stayed with the ball control and running and good defense. Worked really well, but just couldn't get over that hump with Florida after 92. But.. 70 wins in 7 years was pretty sweet.

Dude, you hit the fricking nail on the head with this one. These motherfrickers act like they toppled the New England Patriots in the Chicken Bowl. They beat a one dimensional offense who can't come from behind at all. They got 50 hung on them twice, plus lost to Arkansas and Ole Miss. Who the frick are they kidding?

We're talking about the SEC taking care of its OOC business, assfrick. Every year at least one of the Alabama teams fricks that up. Can you not read?

Stallings was a good coach, and had some good teams for sure. I would have bet everything I had in 92 ( which was a 78 Monte Carlo, a #34 Auburn Jersey, a can of Copenhagen and a 12 pack of Natural Light) that Miami was going to beat y'all like a rented mule. Stallings and Bro. Oliver had a serious game plan and kicked that arse.

That's what made this years Sugar so bad. I felt like we were playing that game and we played the part of Miami.

I seem to remember one of the Bammer defenders returning a fumble/interception for a TD. Did that happen? Maybe not a TD, but it seems that play put Bama on top with momentum and they stood on ThugU's neck for the rest of the night. THAT was taking care of OOC business.

I think Miami only crossed the 50yd line 2 or 3 times the entire night. Was definately a helluva gameplan by Bro. Oliver, didn't hurt we had the two best ends in the nation and when he lined them up on the same side of the line, he really f'd up Gino's head.

Please tell me you're joking. Spurrier is the face of the SEC? Yeah he's making us all proud @ sc.

I think that was the last time Bama really represented the SEC. The only other I can pull off the top of my head is the really ugly last second FG in a minor bowl(by the guy with cash in his sock).

Dear Lord, do you realize how stupid you sound? We are talking about Spurrier at FLORIDA. And who the hell said he is the face of the SEC? I merely stated the fact that he gets a great deal of credit for where the SEC is today.

We reeled off 5 straight bowl wins in the early 90's. They included Miami, Coloroda, North Carolina, Ohio St.(who hasn't) and Michigan. Since then, we've been swapping wins and losses every other year in the bowls.

Dear lord do you know how stupid you sound? Spurrier was great for Florida and that is it. I've never ever ever ever heard anyone say that spurrier has anything to do with the perception of the SEC. Ever. If you have any links to any articles or any links to any books or any links to any quotes by anyone other than yourself, oleasse post them. Oh and I'm waiting.

I really do think this guy is clinically retarded. He wants to meet just one person who thinks Spurrier deserves some credit for the way the modern SEC looks today, when in fact everyone with a brain believes that.

Why don't you just explain to all of us how spurrier changed the SEC? Did he invent the offensive line? Was he the first coach to pass the football? Was he the first to run the football? Did he win more championships than any other coach? I mean what the frick did he actually do to change the SEC? Was he the first head coach to wear a headset? Was he the first coach to recruit? Was he the first coach to do whatever it is that you're thinking about? Damn, what did he do?

His style of offense and the speed he recruited to run that offense changed the way SEC Defenses had to run themselves in order to attempt to stop that offense. His style of coaching led Florida to dominate the SEC, so the other SEC teams had to adjust to Florida's newfound superiority, in the long run making them better for it. Spurrier revolutionized the SEC, and had a major part in the way the SEC looks today.

Now that's a reason, albeit not a good one, but one nonetheless.

That was an intelligent well thought out response and I agree with it. That was refreshing
