We are going to embarrass y'all next year to but it will not be as bad in BDS as when we do it in Tiger stadium.

Bro, lsu has embarrassed the SEC since the day they were admitted to it. Other than 2 out of the past 5 years, lsu has been the black eye of the SEC. The SEC is only as good as it is because of Alabama. Alabama is the SEC, period

The SEC owes all dues to Florida for where it is today. You can take this garbage and get the hell out of here.

Right, Florida has dominated the SEC and college football for a long time, and I mean a really really long time. I mean they won 1 NC in the 90's and 2 in the past 3 years. Therefore, clearly, unequivocally, Florida is the SEC.

It was Spurrier's Florida that caused the SEC to "change" into the SEC it is today. They don't deserve all the credit, but they do deserve a good share of it. Alabama, by contrast, does not.

ASUTigerX - Since you are so "in the know" why don't you go and talk it over with Nick Saban? Maybe he could help you take some of the red off your embarrassed face. Are you low on vocabulary; it needs a clean-up.

I'm sorry but you're gonna have to explain that shite. How did spurrier change the SEC? And how is Alabama not responsible for the image of the SEC? What are you in second grade?

There's a nice little term, "ad hominem" , I think you need to read up on it.

His teams of the 90s dominated the SEC, and caused the other teams to have to increase their level of play to keep up. The modern SEC owes a lot to Spurrier and Florida.

I'm talking about the stregnth of the SEC right now. To say Alabama is the cause of the SEC being such a strong conference recently is absurd, seeing how they have been horrible almost every year outside of this year for this past decade.

You're the product of inbreeding or you are 12 years old. Or both.

I think the comment was made as a precursor to the nineties. Dating back to the very beginning of the SEC. Alabama almost single handedly brought the recognition consistantly to the SEC and Southern football and this continued for decades. Havin said that, Florida and Spurrier definately changed the complexion of the conference and how teams played offense and defense to a large degree. They have also carried the banner moreso than other teams since the 90's. Alabama had a great run with them, finishing second many times. Lsu has also had it's share of dominance this decade with what they've accomplished. Auburn to a smaller degree has also made a great showing the middle of this decade with the run that they had.

Yeah spurrier made the SEC change to the spread offense. Every team in the SEC now runs a spread offense. No team runs the football. Ok I get what you're saying now. Because of spurrier, tuberville hired Franklin?

Yes, Alabama changed the SEC in the 60's and 70's, but Spurrier changed it in the 90's and is partially responsible for where it is today. I am not taking away from anything Bama did, but as far as the modern SEC goes, the Old Ball Coach has to get a lot of the credit.

No, you shouldn't because you are a good and rational poster. I don't know your age, but I am old enough to remember how everyone was shell shocked when Spurrier went to the "Fun and Gun" and blew the doors off of just about everybody. His offense changed the thinking of every school in the conference. Much like when Bear went to the wishbone.
