that was no worse than Ohio State losing to unranked Va Tech at home, the year OSU got into playoffs and won it.
UNC was ranked at the end of the year.

Nope, don't recall OSU losing to a 3-9 team at a neutral site in 2014.

they lost to a bad Va tech at home the same year they won the title last.
