100% correct and they were still pissed over the fact he left.

Reading the comments about prez decision versus AD decision only makes me ask - why is Foley the one Spurrier is most pissed at? And it could be that he just felt like Foley did not fight hard enough for him. At that time, Spurrier was the most sought after CFB coach available.

There is other stuff that Spurrier is supposedly mad at Foley about. Although I have seen them together over the years and there doesn't seem to be any bad blood.

Foley did not tell Spurrier to submit a resume. I can assure you of that.

Hey, it turned out well for all parties - including us. A lot of us really wanted him but two years in he wasn't moving.

There is no bad blood between those two.

Foley is a class act and I have seen Spurrier and him sitting together at Carolina basketball games when Florida comes up.

I've spoken with Foley before. He is a friend of SC's and I know for a fact he was the first one to call Tanner and congratulate him and offer him any help when he got the AD job ... well, I think the first one Ray called-back. Skip was the first one to call on Ray's cell and Ray took that call. Those two are pretty tight.

None of the ADs in the conference are to be trusted, that's a well known fact. But Foley, when he as an assistant AD at Florida, helped lobby to get SC in the league more than twenty years ago and there is absolutely zero ill will between anyone at SC and Foley. Especially not between Spurrier and him. Foley's nutt sack was over the coals when all that crap went down and Spurrier knows that.

Had something to do with something Spurrier said at a Gator Club meeting in Jacksonville I think? Something that pissed-off some big booster there who let it carry over a couple of years later and helped to blow it out of proportion.

I've heard bits and pieces of it on the golf course, but never the full story. And I've never actually played a round with Spurrier himself, only a hole here and a hole there, but I regularly play with one of the HBC's regular golf partners so I hear the stories.

I know, I know, I'm done. Thanks for indulging me bitches. One day I'll be gone and you'll miss me when you're old.

John Feinstien I think was the reporter's name. At least that is who someone else remembers it to be, I thought it was John somebody - but I cannot remember his last name although I've been assured it was him who asked the question and evoked Spurrier's ire.

Had lunch with him about that time and I was really surprised he didn't go. In fact, every time I was around him the conversation turned (by him) to Florida. He freaking loves the place and it was always like a running promotion of the place by him when he talked. I was absolutely shell-shocked he did not go back. Haven't seen him in quite a while, so I don't know if he's still like that or not.
