Shug Jordan never played against LSU, so I guess he figured why coach against them... until the SEC said, "Stop being a bork, Shug. Grow some and take your team to Baton Rouge.".

Didn’t bama and auburn not play for 40 years?

1907- 1949 the Iron Bowl didn't get played. many speculate it was because of fans fighting. But the the truth is the schools were fighting over money. State legislature tried to intervene but were ineffective, and there were several attempts by both sides to resume but the other school rebuked them. This went on until one day the two ad's met at an event in B'Ham and decided to resume the game. It is reported that the Auburn ad walked to the Bama ad and said, "why the hell aren't we playing each other?" and the Bama ad said, "I don't remember." Or something to that effect.

I can totally understand a guy from Auburn and Alabama not having a clue what they're talking about.

Another clueless UGA fan. I guess 38 years without football to talk about will cause the mind to slip.

That’s because you bitched out and we didn’t have our rent a win padding our stats It’s cool, dude. Just admit you guys bitched out and we can move on to more modern discussion about AU playing at LSU.

All those 6th place finishes would cause you to rent instead of buying. LSU was lost in the desert until Saban arrived. Now they are just lost.

Speaking as a Georgia fan and therefore your superior, I will be charitable and let you speak.

You're welcome.

The rumor was that the L8U frat boys were molesting the auburn Greek girls every other year and the BOT got tired of losing the girls to pregnancy. This was before birth control. Plus the swine school was losing too many pigs to whole hog sacrifice to the god of the Pit. Auburn wanted out and the other team said sure.

If you look at Alabama’s media guide, they retroactively say that LSU and AU did in fact play, but bama claims the wins for all the games.

Go look.

Yeah, ol' Shug was 0-4 against Cholly Mack at LSU:

LSU vs Auburn, 1951-1975:
10/13/1973 @ Auburn (6-6) W 20 6
10/14/1972 vs. Auburn (10-1) W 35 7
10/24/1970 @ Auburn (9-2) W 17 9
10/25/1969 vs. Auburn (8-3) W 21 20

LSU was lost in the desert until Saban arrived.

And yet, still had a winning record versus Auburn - including a winning record in Auburn's own house - before Saban ever got to LSU.

If LSU was nothing before Saban, it doesn't say much for Auburn.
