Because outside of March nobody cares

I do agree College basketball was on its way to being hurt by the G League Elite team but The NIL has saved college basketball.
The top two players are choosing to go to Memphis over that Elite team because FedEx is giving them $1m a year which is as much as G league can offer.
The NIL will save college basketball and it’s being proven this year already

The reason basketball is irrelevant is because the basketball schools are irrelevant.

I’m just a big fan of college basketball so decided to look into the numbers.
Don’t let those numbers/facts get in your way
You are so full of shite that your eyes are brown.

Kentucky’s basketball program is more valuable and brings in more money than Mizzou football. Kansas brings in more and is more valuable than Mizzou football. There are around 15-20 other programs that do that as well.
For the last year of data that is compiled by USA Today, Mizzou's athletic revenue was 37th in the country. All but 2-3 of the schools ahead of it are football-first schools, so I'd be curious to see how you are possibly claiming that 15-20 other programs make more in hoops than Mizzou does in football. The data that I am looking at shows ZERO schools make more revenue from basketball than Missouri does from football.
quote:
Arkansas at around $25 million per year in basketball is more than Mizzou football. Arkansas number will take a massive jump with close to 19k season tickets already sold this year
Arkansas' ENTIRE athletic department made $123 million to Mizzou's $110 million last year, both operated at a loss. So your logic here is absurd.
quote:
Mizzous football program has around an 11 million value or profit in football. Ouch
This makes no sense. "Value or profit"? Those are two entirely different things. If you are arguing that Mizzou's program is valued at $11 million, you were definitely educated in Arkansas. Are you using ticket sale data from last year's COVID season as a sole indicator of revenue when we had limited fans and just a few home games?
quote:
This is the 3rd year in a row for ticket sales decline at Mizzou and the athletic department operating at a loss.
So our worst two seasons in the past 20 years and the COVID pandemic while we were doing a $200 million renovation of the stadium and training facilities? Shocking.
quote:
You want to know the only sport not operating at a loss in Mizzou…… Basketball
Again, Arkansas is also operating at a loss across its athletic department. I imagine a ton of schools are this past year.

Fun fact: everyone who has posted in this thread sucks at basketball

Though in truth, none of these posters sucks at basketball as bad as Kansas sucks at football.

I love college basketball. We got a new coach and very excited about what he can do.
