this one i highly, highly disagree with you on. the other points... fine.

but when a person shows he doesn't give a rat's arse about his own life or anyone else's when he's driving... i think everyone should hate on him BAD for that. he's a piece of shite if he's running red lights, speeding... etc.

btw, i'm not saying i've never done these things ONCE or TWICE in my life... that proves that i'm normal.

Cam newton does it so many times that he's been caught 13 fricking times. THIRTEEN... TIMES.

All of this information should have been released as it happened instead of it being put out a week at a time.

Cam could do something about that right now and I would have a lot more respect for him if he would. If he wants to be given the Heisman Trophy, he should know and expect that reporters are going to find out about his issues. He should preemptively come clean about his past, admit mistakes, talk about how his life has changed, etc.

He is asking the public to give him the most revered award in American sports. This award requires integrity. He needs to make his case for why he is eligible for that award or otherwise remove his name from consideration for the trophy.

The redemption story seems much more credible coming from a humble mouth than from a nerdy reporter.

Whats funny is that you think that because somebody makes some mistakes in their life, then they cannot make up for those mistakes and redeem themselves. Nobody is arguing that he has made some mistakes, but so did Jordan and he is still a role model.

no man.... no. i'm ok with second chances and even ok with the fact that Cam Newton could repent and CHANGE his ways and be genuinely sorry for his actions.

but the question is... do YOU think he's truly sorry for all of the things we've mentioned here on this board?

my point is... he hasn't changed yet just because some camera was in his face and wanted to do a "Cam's plight" story. that doesn't make him sorry, it just boosts his image and changes people's mind about him UNJUSTLY.

Every interview last spring covered this.

really?

Watch him play. How can he remove himself form consideration?

Could it be that they would probably have 3 losses right now sans cam

the funny thing is that he's living a lie if he thinks his ROLE is worth modeling after.

i wouldn't want my kids to listen to anything he said really. think about it... all of the conclusions he's made about the world have led him to frick up HOW many more times than YOU have in your life?

JUST because he's physically talented and on a known football team doesn't make him worth taking after. just my opinion.

You know damn well that people who have fricked up in the past and turn their lives around are some of the most important role models to kids when talking about the choices they make in life. Much more so than self-righteous message board posters who have never done anything wrong.

Why would we be? There is nothing to suggest he did anything wrong with whole Kenny Rogers scandal and who cares if a guy cheats on a test in college at a different school two years ago even if it is true?

Sure hope he doesn't forget to include the time in 5th grade he stole that bubblegum, or maybe in 8th grade when he cheated on his girlfriend at the homecoming dance. God knows we need to make sure we know every indiscretion about someone's past. By the way, did anyone ever get a chance to ask Mark Ingram about any screw-ups he made along the way?

I can't help that Cam has the wool pulled over your fricking eyes. He's not changed or better or genuinely sorry for any shite he's done...

I understand what you are saying. That is completely wreckless and selfish behavior. But this did happen two or three years ago. If Im an Auburn fan, Im looking at what he has done while at Auburn and am not going to be "mad" at him about what happened a couple years ago. Kids grow up alot at this stage in their life. Not saying he shouldnt pay for his mistakes and be called out for them, but what reason do Auburn fans have to be mad at him about this? None.

*edit*

Marines4auburn made me think of it.. he seems to be the only one holding Cam accountable.

Unless he actually took money, there's no reason to be pissed at Cam.

AUBURN FANS... HOLY shite...

listen... if you had an employee who was late ALL the time... and kept saying he was sorry. yet he continued to be late over and over and over.... at some point you gotta realize he's not really sorry because if he were his behavioral patterns would change.

He was late all the time at his last job...not at the one I hired him for.

And what evidence do you have to show that he hasn't matured and grown from his time at UF?
