Until the first loss to Stanford, Alabama had won 43 straight regional games going back to 2007. The next longest streak was Oregon with 27. We played a lot of freshen this year and the offense just disappeared at times. No idea why so many are in the portal. Is softball NIL a thing?

For whatever reason and unlike previous years, ESPN only aired 6 of the CWS games compared to 17 of the WCWS games (the rest being on ESPN2). CWS viewership was down like 35% in 2021 from 2019 as a result. Also of note, Game 1 and 2 of the CWS title series had significant rain delays
