Too lazy to look it up but I think I read once that the opposing coach has to complain to the ref then they give them a warning before they can penalize them. Coaches aren't complaining

I think cowbells are a little different than the confederate flag. I guess they should take the trailors away from Dudy Noble too while we're at it huh?

+1

Totally agree with ya TDS, Comparing the Confederate Flag at Ole Miss to cowbells at State are like night and day. I dont even want to start on that can of worms.

I think they effect our State's reputation about the same(with the flag getting the nod for worst).

They both look completely ridiculous to outsiders.

They are illegal in SEC games. I have seen fans sneak them in though. Its not very well enforced.

If the officials aren't going to enforce it, then the university isn't going to enforce it. It's up to the opposing coach to do something. Maybe they don't wanna mess with a great tradition.

Pank I think you only count football, because Mississippi State has OWNED Ole Miss in Baseball and Basketball over the past 25 years.

You and all of your fellow Reb fans are living in the past (before integration) laying claim to your FAKE national championship teams of the 50's and 60's.

If you are from the North and your first trip to Mississippi is Starkville during gameday, you are likely to think everyone in Mississippi is like that. It takes down the whole state.

You that insecure about your image? Anybody that has an ounce of college football knowledge knows that is associated with State.

You think people at UT Austin think cowbells are ridiculous?

I sure to most outsiders, the last thing they think about when degrading Mississippi is State's cowbells and Ole Miss and the flag.

So do all the trailer parks.

If you're worried about things that influence the impression the state of Mississippi leaves on visitors, cowbells and flags on campus are kinda low on the list.
