Because they somehow believe that any SEC loss to the Big 12 (especially a Bama loss) makes them look bad even though it has nothing to do with them personally.

We recruit against them in the DFW area, and have been dominating them in that regard since Sumlin took over. This win gives them some legitimacy back after we waxed them last year. Is that too hard to understand or are y'all still just butthurt about Speedy and looking for any excuse to bash A&M right now?

It's "bashing" by making the accurate observation that A&M fans were very upset about the game last night? It's just a bowl game, who gives a shite? Weird shite happens every year in bowl games. SEC is still the dominant conference.
And yeah, we are so upset about losing Speedy. I guess picking up the #1 recruit in the nation last night will put salt on those wounds.

You seriously thought my mania was an act?

Most of us have not denied that Bama has the inside track with the SEC front office. It's not really even up for debate. The difference between Bama's influence and the situation we were in before is night and motherfricking day.
It's like leaving North Korea and going to the UK, Germany, or Australia instead of the U.S. Yes, European Socialism is not ideal, but compared to totalitarian communism, it's like frontier libertarianism.
If any of that makes sense?

...and this is the only place in my life where I can unleash the maniacal tendencies without many consequences. The word "fan" is short for fanatic, or behavior involving uncritical zeal or with an obsessive enthusiasm. It's a source of release.
Also, it's fun to say frick LSU®

Actually "Dickriding" is all about trying to talk smack about the accomplishments of another team. As in "you are riding their dick". It's especially strong when it is a team that beats a team your team lost to.
A&M fans wanted Bama to win because it is better for A&M. The stronger the SEC brand is helps us probably more than just about anyone because the SEC is still a new thing in Texas and we have strong Non SEC competition in recruiting. Even then, I don't know of any Aggies that are really worked up about the game either way. It's more of a "well, I guess if I have to choose I pick Bama" game. I don't think legions of Aggies were poised to run to Land Thieves to talk smack either way though.

LSU and Arky are the only programs in the SEC where a true rivalry exists. There's simply not enough on-the-field history with anyone else.

But, because LSU had no part in Bama's failure, LSU fans are hiding behind OU's skirt, much like Big Twatever fans have no part in any of A&M's failures, and are currently hiding behind OU's skirt.
Can we agree to call it skirt hiding?

My reason why I stated earlier but to clarify I would have been rooting for all but 2 teams to beat OU and if those 2 other teams were playing them then I root for a meteor. So I'm not "riding" anything I just hate OU and Stoops.

It's very simple.
The SEC is our trump card in recruiting. We recruit directly against Texas and OU, and our distinguishing trait is the opportunity to play in the best conference. We don't have the history those programs have.
If we were a more established program the SEC's dominance wouldn't be as important. But until we reach an elite level, we have to sell kids on the opportunity to showcase yourself agaisnt the best.
In short, we rely heavily on the SEC's perception as the undisputed premier conference. I want all SEC teams to destroy their opponents in bowl season, even those I dislike. That will change if/when we reach a point where we can rest more on our laurels when recruiting elite talent.

Didn't read the rest of the thread.. but to explain my position on the topic, it wasn't so much that I wanted to see Bama win than I didn't want to see OU beat a top SEC team.
Though Bama does recruit Texas, OU and A&M have always had a dynamic in recruiting where if one does well then the other inevitably comes up short. OU relies on Texas recruits as much as any team in Texas and so you could say we are direct competitors when it comes to recruiting.
One of our larger draws (currently) in recruiting is that we offer the chance to play in the SEC while remaining in the state of Texas. Such a spectacle diminishes when the image of the SEC is brought down because 'the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide' gets knocked off by a Big 12 team.. especially OU.
Could have only been worse if Bama got beat by the sips, imo. So yeah, that's why I was personally hoping OU didn't win.. or how LSU fans see it "AGGY WANTED THEIR BESTEST FRIENDS THE BAMMERS TO WIN TEH BOWL GAME"
