I hate Mizzou because I had the misfortune to live there for a year and it sucked arse. About the only thing redeemable in the entire state is Flame Steakhouse in Springfield.

I fully expected there to be more Miss St fans in this thread telling Zoo how much they loved them. Thanks to Zoo, Miss St no longer has the crappiest campus in the SEC.

Want to know how I know you've never been to Mizzou?

Just my two cents but before the past season ever started there were more Mizzou fans talking s#!+ than I would have ever guessed the day after they were voted into the conference.
So when you add the $#!+ talking players and coaches to the fans, I remember distinctively there being no pity for Mizzou coming into the season. Everyone intended to blister their arses.
Seriously, I think we can honestly say that most every Mizzou fan that posted in the preseason, not all mind you but the great majority, predicted their Mizzou team would come in and win the SEC East in their inaugural season.
I can remember the arguments too:
"Great Coach who knows how to win."
"Great QB - like a Cam Newton kind of QB."
"Great Defense - knows how to play, how to stop the run!"
We were told how good their offensive line was gong to be and how good their returning RB was going to be and even how good their backup RBs were.
Plus ... they signed DGB and he was going to be the MVP, as a true freshman, of the SEC.
But as football season slapped some of them back into reality ... in comes the grinders about their basketball team and how they would win the SEC.
Seems like there are some Mizzou fans who remind me of the Black Knight in that Monty Python movie. Suckeye fans are the same way but at least they've had some success from which their hubristic egocentricities originates ... but y'all are fast becoming the OSU fans of the SEC.

Because "you guys" suck.

My guess is most of the hate for Mizzou comes from fans of marginal teams who haven't experienced much success in the SEC and need someone lesser to pick on, so they go for the new kid.

The State of Missouri is not any less southern then the state of Kentucky both where border states
At least Kentucky has great bourbon and great horse racing. Missouri has a rickety metallic semi circle that for some reason is considered a landmark.

OP, its real simple. It started with media day. MU was demanding respect unearned. TJ Moe makes some dumb comments and obvious didn't back them up. Then Richardson calls UGA old man football then gets their brains beaten in by UGA. At the same time as all the talk from the team, the MU fans were talking about how they're going to shock the SEC and contend for the East. Then as we all know MU didn't even make a bowl and didn't take care of business in OOC play. Now if MU didn't learn their lesson in football, they start the same trash talking (the fans) about how SEC basketball sucks and MU is going to win the SEC title. Now they're sitting pretty at tied in 5th. Outside of all this there has been the talk about how MU wanted Big Ten, not SEC. Which, hate to break it to the MU fans, SEC >>>>> Big Ten. Then there is always the crowd that thinks MU doesn't fit in the SEC. They're too far north and don't share in the culture.
all of that is bullshite
you are the new guy. it'll get better. the SECr has been infested with trolls, pick and choose your spot to post and what to read and you'll be fine

You're a bunch of Yankees. Saying you're 'no less Southern than Kentucky' isn't a great argument. That place sucks too and basketball is their #1.
If you are older than 21 making these types of statements, you should be ashamed of yourself

Why the hate you HAD to ask? Ok...first of all, the whole f'ing state is a wasteland and ugly. You have Bass Pro Shop, meth labs, carnivals & fertilizer as main exports.
Other than that...
Other than that...

As someone said earlier Mizzou just doesn't fit in culturally or athletically, A&M fits in from an athletic standpoint, but they aren't necessarily 'Southeastern'.. More 'Texan', if you will. But in the end it's about the almighty dollar and we're glad you're here. You'll settle in soon enough
This is true about us. We are more Texan than Southern, but we like it that way because we all love Texas' unique culture. The reason we fit it is because Texas values are very similar to Southern values.

Agreed. Texas is far superior to any southern state.

Football has been to 8 bowl games in 10 years, has the 6th most wins in the country since 2005. The past 7 years they have had one 7 win season, three 8 win seasons, two 10 win seasons, and one 12 win season.
Um. I'm not saying you're wrong, but you're wrong. And these were just my best guesses. There are probably more I overlooked.
