Dude. You do know that the players that went and joined the Army, Navy, etc. were put on all-star teams and played for the service against school teams, right? let's not act like Florida made a huge sacrifice for the country.
Talk about trashy. that would be a poster that wanted to take a holier than thou stance when their players were, indeed playing football...just not for their team. And it's not like Florida's football teams were going to do anything anyway. From 1936 until 1939 Florida's records were:
1936-4-6
1937-4-7
1938-4-6-1
1939-5-5-1

Stop counting titles from the 40’s it makes you look worse. You know good and damn well half the titles back then wouldn’t be awarded today. Half of your wins came against a UF program that wasn’t established and the state population was comparable to Alabama. Take a look at the population jump from the 70’s to the 80’s. What’s the record since Florida has been Florida? Say 1990 after UF starting investing in football like everyone else in the south?

What about Frankie Sinkwich (he won the Heisman that year), George Poschner and Charlie Trippi, who would go on to become one of the greatest college football players in history? They weren't helping out the cause like all the other badasses were.

Here is a walk down history lane dawgs...when Spurrier came to UF in 1963 (frosh didn't play back then) he was taken aside by some older bullgators who told him the story of what happened during WW 2 when UGA had all their elite players put into the ROTC program and kept them from serving their country overseas...unlike UF who sent all their best players off to war. Spurrier learned that UGA beat us 75-0 when we had nothing but scrubs and they had all their best players....well NOW you know the reason Spurrier wanted to beat the dawgs so damn badly...how about 11-1 as UF's HC? He hung 50 on your sorry azzs in Athens.
This is the truth and you cant run away from it leghumpers....although you will try to shine the light elsewhere...your program sucked back then for doing that and I know you must be proud.
