There is no next Nick Saban for a while. What's he has done with the consistency is remarkable and hardly able to be duplicated. It's whybit only happens about every 50 to 60 yrs. trying to duplicate his success is what has the sec in this mess to begin with. It looks like the sec has finally hired a decent bunch of coaches though to right the ship.

Bryant era was over 1980. Saban started in 2007.
I have lived thru both and seen the two greatest of all time.
I don't expect to be alive to see the next Great one.

I'm not trying to be flippant here, but Saban is, debatably, the best college coach of all time. It's very unlikely that anyone replicates what he has done anytime soon.
When Nick Saban turned 58 years old he had 1 national championship. He's now 66 years old.
Urban Meyer has 3 NC's and he's only 53 and in the hunt every year.

saban may be the greatest HC in modern football history. a "replacement" may not come along again for another generation or two.

If Clemson was in a real Conference, I would have to say Dabo

Mullen in Saban coaching tree?
When did Mullen coach under Saban? He has been planted several times by Saban, but never coached under him. He would be under Meyer

If Dabo can keep it up at Clemson he's probably the closest thing to Saban in the near future. But may be a long time or may never be another like Saban
