The strange thing was there wasn't anything but a light sprinkle at my house in Springfield the night of the Joplin storm. That was surreal seeing all the warnings from Joplin and south of town but it just split around where I live.

That's the weirdest thing about big tornadoes IMO. It's insane how so much destruction can be so close, and you barely see a drop of rain.

Yep I remember my mom, who lives out of state, calling me too see if we were safe and taking cover and I had no clue what she was talking about. I was so confused because we hadn't even heard of the tornado yet because the weather was perfectly fine here.

Back in '07(I think) we had a tornado come threw town... Was out on the porch(Was a buddys Bday and was puking) and it didn't get windy or anything. Less than a mile away it tore town apart

ETA: After the storm the sky turned green was weird as fkk

That color green is SO weird. In Tuscaloosa it was so weird driving into our old neighborhood... our old house was fine, and literally the yard behind us was the start of the horrible pictures of total devastation they showed in Time Magazine. Literally 5 blocks of houses were gone.

I was in Joplin today they've started some reconstruction but still the damage path was unreal. I couldn't imagine what Tuscaloosa looked like.

Last time I was in Tuscaloosa (December 30) I was pleasantly surprised at how much progress had been made on 15th street since the storms happened. I know there are parts of town that are still in really bad shape though.

Negative. I'm just sensitive when people make fun of me for having mine pressed at the cleaners.

Easily Alabama.....say something negative about their school or athletic teams and you will have 15-20 on top of you before the ink is dry on your post

We've been beaten so badly that we just don't give a frick anymore. Plus no Ole Miss fan gets sensitive about what we wear. We're better than you, and we know it.

Arky. Not all of them are sensitive, but most.
I would say Bama - but then again Bama is one of the most storied programs in college football, so I suppose high expectations allow for easier butthurt.

I know. I live between Springfield and Battlefield (south side) and I was smoking ribs when my brother told me that Joplin had just been destroyed. I went inside and The Weather Channel was showing rough footage from Joplin. It looked terrible.
I thought oh shite, this monster is definitely headed toward Springfield. Most storms roll right up I-44. I tried to get my guests into the storm shelter, but they kept making margaritas saying, "Don't worry, we're fine." I said, "Are you effing watching The Weather Channel?"
The skies were a bit green and the wind was gusting, but it never came. Instead, it headed southwest toward Branson which was an abnormal trajectory for storm to take. We dodged a bullet for sure.
