It would be much easier than paying off all the individual crews every season. Instead we could just include it in the source code.

Never

It's a stop watching football deal for me.

The ref bias and mistakes is one of my favorite parts.
I love the meltdowns over perceived ref cheating, real or otherwise.

Watching SEC refs giving BMFP his due was amazing thing this year.
Probably one of the best things the conference has ever done

Imagine the first time the system crashes in the 4th quarter of a close game. It would be so entertaining to watch people lose their minds.

AI does a shitty job at writing news articles. I don't want it officiating football games.

Why? You would still have the on-field referees. You sure you have a complete grasp on what you are already disagreeing with?

It would also use drone and sensory technology to clean up real time errors and protect the integrity of the game.

Imagine sensory technology embedded in the football and field delivering real time data in seconds and without a review from an "outside source."

I think everyone can agree the integrity of the game needs to be protected. Be cautious of those that don't.

You don't need AI to chip a ball and use that for spots and such. Although the biggest problem with this is that what actually matter is where the ball is when the player touches the ground with their knee or other body parts.

The single data point doesn't actually solve the issue.

So even if you know the ball went to the 20, you're still going to be trying to figure out when the players knee hit or whatever. You could sync that up with footage and then use a human to determine when the knee is down or not and get a timestamp for the footballs position.

And when it comes to AI, if you are going to be feeding it replay images, then it's going to have the same problems as humans. There are confidence levels. Let's take the Georgia vs Auburn touchdown/fumble. That was so close the AI isn't going to have high confidence in either direction. You know what they will have a high confidence on? The same ones you have high confidence on.

So you gonna take an AI with it 50.3% thinking it was a fumble, and 49.7% thinking it's a touchdown over everything else?

But if you wanted to use it to detect good or bad field goals type thing, that can probably be done and work well.

Probably gonna see AI doing things like calling plays long before we see officiating.

Dude I'm not reading all that. Slow down. You don't need to write a fricking dissertation on the SECr unless you're getting paid by the word.

Another one of the conundrums of the SECRant. One group argues that the Red Elephant Club controls the entire SEC. The other group argues that Alabama fans are too stupid to use a computer. And some very special rantards say both.

It doesn't matter if you read it or not. If someone finds the topic interesting, they will read it. It happens to be a topic I enjoy because as I mentioned - I do these things as a hobby.

And I guess learn to type if you think that took me a long time.

I also didn't say you needed AI for sensory technology. I included it in cooperation with. But you knew that. Instead you wrote 5 paragraphs about it.

You like to sound smart don't you?

Not sure about overall officiating but maybe for reviews. Would probably be less likely to have biases or be influenced by outside forces.

It wouldn't really be useful in football, as 3down10 pointed out.

Nah. You just have fans of Alabama as absolutely retarded as you running the SEC office with extreme bias. That's all.

Can we just skip to the end of this discussion where a bama fan points out that stats that show bama is one of the most penalized teams and an LSU fan says it's the timing that makes it all rigged?

Might as well.

AI is a culmination of all the human knowledge.
AI is actually the most fully human thing in existence today.
One human being is one human's experience and knowledge. Ai is everything every human is.
That's why it sucks.
AI doesn't hate scum like BmfP

For what purpose is it needed?

Well, if used for LSU games, it could confirm on every penalty the corndogs had been robbed - and question why the SEC home office isn't located in Slidell, Louisiana

Thanks for the information. We have gathered enough data, I believe.

Schools with an open mind? -15 SEC schools
Schools who do not want to have an open mind with AI helping with officiating? - 1 Alabama University

Thanks guys!
