The hawg's pitching vs LSU's hitting. Possibly too close to call. CPM vs DVH: huge advantage to LSU.

It's kind of easy to have inflated egos with this team, not to mention 6 CWS titles. By the way, how many does arky have?

it's kind of easy for you all to have inflated egos at any given time. but now you're all starting to sound quite a bit like you did before the champ game last year.

To try and get this away from a flame, why do you go with the give me a break emoticon here? I don't know that it is a huge advantage, but Mainieri has a pretty impressive record against DVH. What are your thoughts on that coaching matchup?

Do you think it is just one of those things where the LSU style and the Arkansas style just set up well for LSU and the coach isn't really relevant?

He said Lsu's hitting vs. Arkansas' pitching is too close to call. This is false, Arkansas has the best pitching staff in the country, Lsu is maybe the 10th best hitting team.

Also, DVH is a great coach, to say the gap between him and Manieri is huge is worthy of a rolleyes.

It isn't really LSU batting vs Ark pitching, it is more like LSU batting versus Arkansas defense (including pitching). ERA doesn't win you games, runs do. So if LSU scores 3 unearned runs and Arkansas scores 2 earned runs, LSU still wins.

LSU allows less runs and scores more runs. Take ERA out of the argument, unless you are talking specific pitchers. From a team standpoint, ERA is pretty pointless IMO.

So if it's not too close to call, and y'alls pitching is clearly superior to our hitting, do you feel confident in saying that LSU won't score more than 2 or 3 runs in any of the games?

I'm not sure why it's difficult for piggies to see this as it has been explained numerous times.

I'm not just talking about ERA, and my point still stands: Arkansas has the best pitching staff in the country.

And that's fine. But it doesn't lead to wins. Scoring more runs than your opponent does, and unearned runs count as much as earned runs do. LSU has given up less runs than Arkansas in SEC play (about even though) and I think LSU can hit Arkansas pitchers better than Arkansas can hit LSU pitchers.

Are you declaring that for a moral victory or are you implying that it will lead to success? Because the horrible defense negates that edge in pitching

Aaron Fritt from Baseball America is suggesting LSU is hitting better than the Hogs lately.
Does someone pay Fritt to come up with such an astute observation?

Series will be decided Sunday. Gonna be a great one. Good luck Tigers and Go Hogs!!

LSU wins 2/3 b/c of the better bats & defense.

Arky will lose at least 1 just b/c of errors alone.

Good to know. Glad to have a potentially solid weekend of weather for a great series

Yeah I'd hate for it to be a little damp and cause 4 or 5 more errors for Arkansas

You wanna talk about some over inflated egos? An Arkansas team that has accomplished nothing, coming in to the season ranked #1, and now has 10 losses, 5 times as many as LSU. LSU is who it is in baseball, it's been that for about 30 years now, it's not an over inflated ego.
