We spent it on Golden...6 years, 40 mill. If you prove yourself, the money will come. Guanteed..the amount of money UF Football pulls in when winning is damn good..not Texas money..but still.

Won’t happen, but another opportunity for negagators to run their mouths. Another day, another negagator thread. A cancer to the program.

Not a great recruiter but with NIL and the portal and Florida money he would have had some really good teams.
Not sure why this narrative exists.

I don't see Mullen wanting to re-recruit players he already signed every off-season because other teams, even smaller programs who might try to throw a bag at player at a larger program, are always trying to up the bid.

NIL put the bag men aspect out in the open and has made recruiting an even more stressful and bigger part of the coaching picture.

I don't see Mullen thriving at a bigger program at all in this environment. That's why he's at UNLV.

Because it's no longer the coach's job to do this.

I'll admit I have stopped following recruiting closely so I'm not sure how it works anymore. But I was under the impression that the boosters try to pay off the players, and while the university/football program isn't allowed to be directly involved in that process, behind the scenes the coaches are involved in those things?

It's kinda sad that Arkansas and Ole Miss spend more on football every year than us.

Every school reports their finances a little differently. At the end of the day UF has one of the 5 largest athletic budgets in the country next year.

Sadly with Stricklin in charge we are screwed..he will probably hire the next Football coach and it will be disappointing most likely..He needs an aide who knows CFB to tell him who to hire next.

He shouldn't be the AD. Plain and simple. He was never a good fit for UF and its been a steady decline since he took over for arguably the most successful AD in history.

Involved like "here are my targets, go get as many as you can"

Well to be fair most people would not have done as well as Foley..but Stricklin is terrible. We need in between.

Damn I didn't realize that it became that hands off for HCs now.

If that's the case, why did we hire Napier in the first place?

The rationale when he was hired was that he was a "great recruiter". If recruiting acumen isn't a factor anymore, why not just hire a good gameday coach and let the boosters do the "recruiting"?

Seems like a really stupid hire considering that his supposed strength is now obsolete and he sucks as a gameday coach.
