Such a simple-minded opinion.
Judging a guy's season based on his peers is certainly fair. However, when that season occurs in a year with one of the best stocks of quarterbacks in the history of the league, some deviation needs to be accounted for.
Mettenberger's season was good enough to be a top-three season at his position in the vast majority of years since the turn of the century, at least. With the defense LSU had that season, that kind of quarterback play was exactly what they needed.

Can't go back that far but it happened. Lsu fans were creaming their pants for him after he won the Ark game at the end of the season and won the bowl game. But keep denying .

However, that's not my point. Trying to minimalism Mettenberger's season because other guys had great years too is just silly. If he played in 2014, he would have been the 2nd or 3rd best quarterback in the league.
Like I said, a lot of guys had a great season at that position in 2013. Doesn't mean any of them were "overblown."

AJ gave people every reason to be excited. He looked like he had the tools to be good. Athletic, good deep ball. We were wrong it happens every year, some players dont live up to the lofty expectations we all hold them too

We lost 2 games on the final drive because of his prevent crap. With one of the best offenses we've had in a long time.

and yet that had nothing to do with the conversation. a poster insinuated that LSu fans were wrong in thinking Mettenberger would turn around the offense at LSU. he did.

In 2013 y'all weren't top 20 in points per game. That is the point of an offense.
