Catcher maybe? I know their catcher uses a headset instead of calls given by hand

Well shite. I thought all the teams were doing it in an effort to try to speed up the game. Maybe it's just an option. We definitely use the walkie and headset.

You're probably correct. I've never bothered to notice if the other team LSU is playing uses the headset. I know Ben McDonald said on one of our broadcasts that the headset was implemented in conference games to speed things up. I just assumed that every team was doing it.
