I want to love him. I want him to be the quirky, cerebral guy that he's billed as being. Some kind of mad genius. And I guess for someone in athletics, he kinda is. But his shtick just seems half baked to me. Some of his quasi-literary allusions and so forth just sound like a lib arts freshman. Super hit and miss.

He was my first choice for Arkansas to hire. Proven winner at 2 schools that don’t have a consistent history of success.

This is dumb. It would be like asking why did Nick Saban never win more than 9 games at Michigan State and why he quit and ran to LSU?

Mike Leach knows which parts of the game to take seriously and which parts to not have fun with. Ed O. does it in his own way too. Too bad, Nick Saban hasn't developed a side of him that is likeable though I do respect his work ethic.
I love Mike Leach for his tough love for Adam James who is a POS. Craig James (Adam's father who apparently did a bad job of raising his son up) did everything to get Leach fired at TT and succeeded.
