I think the only people disappointed are opposing fans. LSU fans are pleased with his performance so far.

My point is grounded when talking about the subject of this thread. LF has been an average player this year in all phases. He has been average in returns, receiving and rushing.

He has been above average among freshmen.

1st in all-purpose yards.
4th in rushing yards per game.
6th in yards per carry, when all 5 players above him have less than 20 carries on the year.

You say average, I say he has quietly been one of the best freshmen in the league. The numbers support my case.

I could not care less about Speedy Noil because I didn't see an A&M fan try to spin him as better than he is by posting his all purpose yards.

Really? They were bragging about the two returns he had against Lamar. The point is that Fournette is held to a higher standard than any other freshman in the league. But he has been an all-around contributor to LSU this year. That is a fact.

He is above average. He is not the best running back to come out of HS over the last 10 years.

Give LF a bit more time. He will be great.

Is actually relevant to his team and was a stud his freshman year. The only word that describes LF is "disappointment."

Would it shock you to learn that Fournette's yards per carry is higher than Yeldon's?

I agree he is going to improve. It is the trend toward calling him a "disappointment" or a "bust" that I am combatting. Fournette has done more for LSU than most people realize.

No. So why doesn't LF get more carries?

Les Miles believe in keeping fresh legged RBs in the game, and has always rotated RBs. Aggies should remember it was Magee last year who had the big game, not Hill, who was the feature back. Les is a RBBC type guy. LF will begin to get more carries b/c the cream always rises to the top.

He is starting to. His workload increased from 8 carries against UW to 13 against SHSU and 10 against ULM. He was back down to 7 against MSU but we went away from the run because we were behind. Fournette did relatively well against MSU when he got the ball. I'm pretty sure he had the longest run by an LSU RB on the night.

I think you'll see that Fournette will get more and more carries going forward, especially as he improves as a blocker.

Fournette is a true freshmen playing behind 2 seniors. What exactly where you expecting of him? Give him a break, its not like Les has any great ideas of how to use him other than running him straight up the gut.

I don't know... Maybe the things we read on Tiger Rant about him being the next Adrian Peterson, or that multiple writers predicted him to win the Heisman.

So I'm the dumbass here?

Anyone who is calling a true freshman, 4 games into his career overrated is obviously a dumb arse.

Furthermore, you folks that are talking shite about any freshman, regardless of who they play for has missed their calling in life. Go ahead and hit me up with this weekends Lotto numbers because you SOB's obviously have the ability to see into the future.

Hell for that matter I can't believe that you jack wagons aren't already working for the NFL.

Holy cow LSU fans. The rustle is real.

quote:

Myles garret

Has 6 sacks and is top 10 in the country.

quote:

speedy noil

Would be 2nd on your team in both receptions and yards despite only playing in 2.5 games.

quote:

Allen

Has a QB rating that would put him at 8th in the SEC if he was a starter, all of one in front of him are Seniors. Still has a higher QB rating than any of your quarterbacks.

quote:

Forgot, Aggies are really sensitive for a bunch of smack talkers.
No, you're just dumb trying to act as though our freshmen are under-performing. One of the reasons we're better than expected is because they have performed as hoped/needed.

quote:

Yes Myles garret is overrated. I surely don't see him right now being as good as Clowney was. Yup definitely overrated and not worth a damn. If he's not Clowney and getting 20 sacks this year he couldn't even play on vandy's team.
Clowney had 8 sacks his freshman year. 13 his sophomore year. 3 his senior year. He never had 20 sacks in a season.

Garrett has 5.5 4 games into his Freshman season. He's already beaten Clowney's senior season total and is on pace to beat Clowney's best year sometime around the 3rd quarter of the Auburn game.

quote:

To all of the people saying Fournette, name me which one of your head coaches would have not accepted Fournette fax papers back on NSD?
All of them would. Irrelevant though since this is specifically about people who are over-rated or under-performing.

quote:

An 18 year old who has a little fun on the football field is critized as a rapist or something by a buncha grown men is hilarious.
Nobody is calling him a rapist. He isn't Winston. We're just calling him an idiot.

quote:

Dude maybe miles is giving Hilliard the bulk of the work because he's a senior. Dumbass
Or maybe it's because Hilliard is more consistent. LF averages 3.7 yards/carry against MSU and Wisconsin and 20 of his 56 yards came off of one play. 10 of his 15 carries against MSU/Wisc went for 3 yards or less. That's not particularly helpful for a team that is using a power running game.

Also, you guys used Ridley as your feature back in 2010, so Miles is not afraid to use one.

Get over it, there are reasons LF isn't getting more carries that have nothing to do with his class.

They have more to do with 8 carries for 18 yards against Wisconsin.

With all that being said.

I lean more toward Driskel

How many yards has Fournette gotten so far? Before the season I said he'd only have about 200 rushing yards when October rolled around.

After only four games, the answer to the OP's question should never be a true freshman.
